I remember them mentioning they'd have a "grand" one later on in the summer. I probably won't make it... there weren't many events at the first opening (or really, any) although it was sweet to see the store. Just not any different than going on another day... except that it was wayyyyyyy more crowded 
Maybe for a grand opening they'll have things for sale like at hobby center "birthdays"? Still probably won't make it, as having to arrive so early to pick anything up at those is kind of a drag...
Ugh, I sound like a downer. Just haven't been too impressed with the lack of events / tournaments / etc at the Bunker thus far, but I'll give it time...

The funny thing, for me, is they're pronounced differently. The guy is generally Bow-wee, while the city is Boo-wee. So your joke makes no sense if you read it out loud...

Yup, they did all this as well. I'm pretty sure that cake the GW staff rolled out was real also.

It was still just an initial or "soft" opening, regardless of what refreshments were served and such. I'm aware that its redundant, confusing and old fashioned (all of which suits GW perfectly), but thats just how some retail establishments work when they open.

Did they have their grand opening sale last time? From what I remember from before I quit the hobby for a few years, the 'grand opening' for GW stores is done after they've established a customer base, and they put out things like 'buy two get one free' and % off coupons for the grand opening to drive up some sales.
Back in... Maybe 2001, when a local GW had its grand opening, my friend used 2 buy two get one free coupons to buy 6 Eldar battleforces.

Painting contest: best finecast,terrain or fulcrum,monster,caster or psyker all entries due by 11AM judging at 5PM. Gaming:Kill teams Tournament 11AM, Storm of Magic 3PM, & Pelennor fields 6PM. Hobby clinics all day long and much much more. We will be building our Apocalypse tables all day with Rob. So Rob is looking for help for the task he has taken on building a fortress is hard work.

Also the new White Dwarf mentions WHFB & 40K flags that are exclusive to the Grand Openings.
If anyone is going, please shoot me a message as I would love to get my hands on them for the clubhouse but have family commitments.
