Flashy Flashgitz

Does the Hellstorm gun on the LRR benefit from Vulcan's Chapter Tactics? I didn't think so since it's not technically a flamer or heavy flamer, I thought it was kinda it's own thing. However, I see the LRR included in most of the Vulcan lists. Or is it choosen because it's fluffy?

Working as intended.
Vulkan's rules specifically point out 'flamers, heavy flamers and (whatever variety of meltagun, can't remember), etc etc,' never mentioning Flamestorm cannons.

It's not included, and the went ahead and put that in the FAQ to try to stop people asking.
Yeah, it's mostly in there because it's fluffy. And because it makes a nice transport for assault terminators (whom Vulkan makes better by master crafting their thunder hammers) and a character or two (Vulkan and/or a Librarian with Null Zone).

A LLR with Multi-Melta cost the same as a LR. Since your normally moving 12 to get the hammers into the fight you only get to shoot 1 thing anyways. Since the MM is now T/L it is a much more effective tank killer than the LasCannon. The Flamestorm is nice because you are killing MEQ on a 2+ with no save.
I recently snookered a Death Company unit into Raging on the LRR. I'd move a bit and flamed his guys while shooting a speeder with the melta. The remaining Death-Dudes chased me down (but can't hurt me). I moved a few more inches, flamed the rest dead and still got to pop a Rhino with the melta.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?
