I was a little confused on this rule, I've heard people say you can and can't blah blah blah... But what are your views? If A Dark Eldar Raider/Venom moves 12" can the unit inside still fire?

They cannot. Passengers may only fire if the vehicle has moved 6" or less. The only exception to that is an ork vehicle with a red paint job.

Ok thanks for clearing that for me

only exception is if the unit were to disembark, then they would be allowed to fire even after the vehicle has moved 12".

Yeah most of the time people assume that since the main gun can fire on the transport so can the guys inside. But even as fast as the DE are even they have to follow the rules for shooting out of a transport. 6" or 12" and hop out.

I wish they could, it would add a lot more pain to everything!

Which is likely why GW changed it from 4th edition (where everyone could shoot from their transport if it moved 12" or less). It was just too good for people to even bother jumping out.

Oooh yeah I miss that...good times good times. But now with all the poison weapons...very broken...blasters with a 30" effective range also broken. I get why it was done.

Opps being playing that wrong - got mixed up with the rules for defensive weapons which you can fire in addiiton to the main gun!

Please remember that although your open topped and don't have fire points you still have to follow the movement restrictions.

Sort of, it's stated on BGB PG 70 "Open-Topped Vehicles do not have specific fire points."

so they still have them, theyre just not gonna say where they go
