I am thinking either some more Mecha & making the 2 assault squads one 10 man Squad.

Don't know much about sanguinary guard so can't comment on them, however I would drop the standard dreadnought as you only have 1 stormraven in your list so it may lag behind. Replace with a baal predator, or try to rejig your list, remove the predator you have in it and try to fit another stormraven in.

Sanguinary guard are generally considered weak. I proxied them in once in a 1500pts game and as soon as they arrived they were pretty much anhiliated.

Problem is they dont have an invun and they are expensive. Termie assault squads are far more durable and have the damage potential. I would drop the Sanguinary guard and get another Termie assault squad and one or 2 priests. Sanguinary priests make Termies even harder with FNP ensuring small arms fire doesnt get through.

Soup, do you mind sharing what you did with the Sanguinary guard? I run 2 squads at 2000 and am nothing short of impressed on how much they kill!

I think I'll replace one squad of Sanguinary Guard with Termies then

I deepstriked them with dante behind some cover so I could not die. I was playing against imperial guard.

He had a chimera full of plasma dudes and he just drove them in rapid fire range of my sangunary guard. Only dante survived(he did manage to kill that vet squad and the chimera on his own though!)

I try to drop behind LOS blocking terrain and use that to set up next turn charges. I rarely make use of dante's precision strike to ace a tank. I have vanguard vets and assault marines good for that!

The limited armour in this army will be easy targets for a opponent. Pop the Stormraven first and the Dreadnought inside won't be reaching combat for a bit. After that deal with the others as and when.

I would alos drop the S-Guard as without a invulnerable save plasma and melta will just take them out shooting or something with power weapons which is quicker in combat i.e Dark Eldar Incubi.

I would take more Assault Squads to fill the gap, ditch Dante and get a Librarian and throw in Vanguard so you can assault when deep striking.
