Some of the locals have bought into Malifuax and I was thinking of doing it myself. I know very little about the game, but I was thinking of building a bayou gremlins crew.

The models are amazing to me and I find the idea of swarms of tiny backwater green creatures hilarious.

So my question to anyone with experience is what do these guys play like? What models are must haves? Are the reasonably competitive (I’m not looking to play the game competitively but some other local might be)

All comments are appreciated. Thanks!

Don't expect to win often useing a pure Som'er Teeth... Don't get me wrong him and his crew are my favorite but they are alittle week. Ophelia however is much more competitive but you won't have alot of little gremlins running around.

My typical 35 SS Som'er Teeth List:

- Som'er Teeth Jones
- Giant Mosquito - 1
- Bayou Gremlin - 1
- Hog Whisperer - 2
- Warpig - 2

That plus 8 SS is pretty much what I run.

Overall stratagy is to use both Warpigs and Hog Whisperers to get in the first turn charge, usually I try and let the pigs end up stampeding. Som'er stays back with the rest of the models out of LOS, AP 1 splits the gremlin in two, AP 2 use Take a Swig on one of the Gremlins, Reckless Fast AP3 and split another gremlin. Next activate the Mosquito's turn two of your Gremlins into Mosquitos. In the future turns summon more Gremlins and turn them into Mosquitos until you have four.

My friend beat me yesterday with Som'er Tooth, although it was a very close game!

He went down the Taxidermist route, so

- som'er tooth
- Giant Mossie 1
- Taxidermist - 1
- S lop Hauler - 1
- Bayou Gremlins - 3 or 4
- Stuffed Pigs - 2

Again using Somer to split Gremlins, but killing one to get a corpse counter so the Taxi could create more stuffed pigs to send out. Similar trick for the Mossies. The Bacon Bombs and Pull my finger are devestating against my Pandora crew as its straight damage, bypassing most defence flips (only armoured characters can lower the damage!) Gremlins are very competitive I think!
