Had a game the other night, daemons vs GK. A group of Paladins joined by Coteaz multicharged some horrors and bloodletters. Coteaz cast Dark Excommunication and turned off the bloodletters power weapons. I know the power can do that, I'm (moderately) ok with that. What I'm wondering is can Coteaz only choose a model in base contact with himself, or with any model in the squad he's attached to? I'm imagining that since he's an IC, and that he's counted seperately for assigning attacks and such, that he can't do so, he'd only be able to affect a unit he was actually touching. I don't remember right off hand if he was or was not in contact the other night, but I do know the opponent tends to try to keep him back in the unit so he can't make B2B the first round, to try and protect him, and I can use that with a BT charge...

DE effects a single unit in btb

All the bloodletters lose their gifts( and so do any characters joined to them)

I'm sorry, let me clarify that a bit. I realize he has to choose. But does it have to be one that Corteaz himself is in btb with, or is one that he is not in btb with but the squad he is joined to is in btb with good enough?

The caster has to be in btb for it to work.

But your opponent shouldn't worry about coteaz. He has a 2+ armor.
