Subject: Alternate models to use for Fighters/Bombers for Firestorm Armada?

I saw somewhere that someone was using BFG models for fighters and bombers for Firestorm Armada, while I liked how it turned out I'd rather not spend more on fighters than I would on a capital ship. Does anyone know of other models that would be a suitable stand in for fighters and bombers? Automatically Appended Next Post: I guess I solved my own question.

I started printing my own ordnance markers for BFG on Shapeways. If you do the "white strong and flexible" material, the surface detail is kind of granular, but on this scale it hardly matters. The models come out reasonably sturdy and very cheap! They're about 0.2" long each and have a distinctly orky look, which might not work as well for FA:

That's 36 fighters for $6. They have a $25 minimum, which is the only annoying thing. I have some torpedo markers for sale too, and a few other things, and there are lots of other interesting goodies people have designed on there. It's not hard to fill out $25 once you look around, especially for space combat games. Shapeways is perfect for printing out tiny ship models.

Those do look pretty neat! I'm not sure I would use them for Firestorm, but I'm going to have to look around that site to see if someone has something that would work.

Ruckdog: you can find a nice listing of SW spaceships stores at: http://www.star-ranger.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=7544
(full disclosure, one of those stores is mine ( http://www.shapeways.com/shops/objects) I mainly do modern naval and aircraft minis these days, but used to do more spaceships http://www.shapeways.com/shops/objects?section=Spaceships)
