Really really silly question probably, but do you have to thin down paints if your using them with a wet palette? or does the water in the palette dilute it down for you?

In most cases the water from the wet palette should be more than enough to thin your paints - for good measure you could add a drop of flow improver or drying retarder to your paints to be on the safe side.

Cheers for the quick answer,

On a wet pallete I would actually recommend flow improver over a drying retarder. I use Flowaid it comes in a container that will last you a life time at any regular art supply store.

But always thin your Flow-Aid down - the bottle says 20:1 water to flow-aid, but I would recommend a mix of only 10:1 - Magic Water as the boys over at BoLS call it - I use it all the time and it really improves the behavior of your paints!

Take it that its ok to use some flow-aid and some drying retarder at the same time?
