So I'm starting up my IG army I have a handful of Catachan that I must have bought years ago and forgot. I also now have an HQ and heavy weapons team of cadians that I just bought. I'm planning on using the Catachan as my vets and everything else will most likely be cadian.

Now for the paint scheme I'm thinking of basing it off of the colors of house Atreides from Dune by Frank Herbert. I feel like these two universes have a lot in common and they're both ones that I enjoy, so why not a little blurring of the lines?

The scheme would be as such:
Cloth=Dark Angel green w/ dry brush of Camo green
Armor=Chaos Black w/ dry brush of Codex Grey

So that's what I've got in mind for now. What do you guys think?

It is a Fremen army though. But it includes Duncan as well, he has the dark green atreides outfit you're looking for. (scroll to half of the page)

Quick tip for painting the dark green. Do not dry brush camo green. The colour difference is to harsh in my opinion.
Try paiting dark angels green layered with dark angels/ goblin green or drybrushed.

Next you'll be saying that they navigate space using prescient psychic abilities. Or that there's an Empire in both with feuding noble houses. Or that there's a shadowy Guild of Navigators pulling strings... or...

I'd probably use the black for the under colour, and use a lighter green, perhaps snot green with goblin green highlights, to keep it from looking like a camo colour. Probably easiest to prime grey and wash down for the black.

Wow! Those are amazing! It's stuff like this that both inspires and intimidates me about this game. I know I'm a noob and not much is expected of me right now, but damn I would love to be able to step my game up like that. Thanks for the links and the advice!

For mixing dark angels/goblin green would it a 1/1 mix ratio?

I also like the idea of a washed down black under coat, with snot green on top. Do you think the snot green should be mixed or watered down at all?

I may try a few things and see what I like the most. I've got some time to kill.
