So I've had the Lysander model awhile now and a couple of things make me not like the model mainly the pose and I hate painting regular heads. So I was just wondering if anyone has or would know how to remove his head and replace it with a regular Terminator head?

As it's a metal model and it's attached to the body I don't know how I would do it and have little experience converting anything so I just wanted some advice please.

Thanks!

My suggestion would be too file the current head flat or saw it off entirely.
Then just cut the back off of a regular terminator helmet so that the front fits in where the old head used to be.

That'd be how I'd do it.

I've had success altering metal models with a soldering iron.

Its very tricky and dangerous, but you can essentially just melt it straight out of there.

Another method is to use drill bits. Start small, and get progressively bigger holes worked into the soft metal. I use the bigger bits by hand, or by holding it in a clamp and turning the model into it.

It takes some work and some swearing. Good luck.

Cut off as muc as you can without damaging anything else with diagonal cutters. Hopefully this will leave you a mostly flat nub to file flat. Drill it out with a bit slightly larger than the round back of the helmet. Not too deep, add glue. Fin.

You see, to Auston, everyone is a Death Star; there's only one way you can take it and that's through a small gap at the back.

get a drill bit that fits the opening and drill his face off!! Then you can file the back of a replacement head or helmet to fit the space created- Pin and glue as needed and viola! you have your conversion!

I would like to add not to use a power drill.

Waaaay too much potential to punch through into parts you dont want to drill, or slipping off into delicate neck armor.

create some sort of a guide hole using a dremel, into his face, and then drill it out. I have used power drills to do pinning, you just need to be incredibly bloody damn careful.

Alternatively, saw it out to save the head for use somewhere else, or for a trade, and then, as before, drill the remainder out.

Then rebuild the inside with green-stuff so that it can favorably receive a 'nator helmet
