I have been having great problems when I tried to make earthy bases, my bigest problem was finding a good brown base color. only been searching through the GW range but chalthan brown turned out kinda to bright and Im not a big fan of schorced brown. I will chek out the P3 range, battlefield brown seems to be the one I have been searching for.

Also Im sure you snow tips will come in handy, I have been doing something similar but with "gw snow" and white glue.
