im very new to 40k. i want to start with the necron army. any opinions or advice??and just wondering does anyone know when the new codex for the necrons is coming out?

New codex should be within the next couple of months, supposedly.

I would buy a battleforce and get it assembled and painted. Byn the time you're done with that there should be more news, and you'll have the core of a Necron army.

If you want to talk necron tactics the tactics forum has some good Necron players, or feel free to PM me. I play Necrons and Orks,a nd i'm always happy to give a hand when i can

I agree completely with Ascalem.

Buy a battleforce, take your time with building and painting them and by the time the new Necron codex comes out you'll almost have a playable army, you'd just need an HQ.

Personally I would wait for the Dex release.

I hear rumor that scarabs are going to be very useful, but this is unconfirmed (Hence it is a rumor)

Things will change when the codex is released, best to wait and proxy an army for a game or two to see how they work.

Im in the same boat but im preparing a small army now so im ready for when the codex comes out and I have already have a small playable force.
