A new company (hat tip to Beasts of War) has chosen to brave the miniature trade, Titan Forge!

Titan Forge is a Polish company that has just opened it's doors and is producing resin fantasy pieces. Their first offering is a doozy, the "Griffin Lady" in their Defenders of the Realm line.

Griffon Lady Leader Lord Female
Price: € 30.00
She strikes from above, dealing death to the unprepared. The Griffon Lady and her steed can be a great addition to your army, instantly becoming its brightest point.

This resin set contains:
1. Griffon's body
2. Left wing
3. Right wing
4. Front griffon leg
5. Rear griffon leg
6. Griffon's tail
7. Rider's body
8. Rider's right hand with lance
9. Rider's left hand
10. Rider's shield
11. Rocky base

Size: 10 cm wide, 11,5 cm tall.

Master model sculpted by Sławek Kościukiewic

30 € (a bit less then $43) seems like a very reasonable deal for a resin model (and the number of parts suggests at least the possibility of a fair number of modifications), but what do people think?

Perusing their blog, it looks like they have some outlandish designs coming swiftly down the pipeline, like this fellow,

griff is very cool. be nice to have something in another pic for scale

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

That's a beautiful griffin. It not only appears to have believable anatomy, but the way it's posed gets at exactly what a griffin should be. It's snorting down it's beak at you, because it's the king of the beasts that walk and the beasts that fly. And you're just some strategically-shaved monkey. DERISIVE SNORT. Some of the feathers on it's wings look a bit flat, but I'm betting that if I saw the model in person those bits that look like texture-free cost-cutting in a high-rez picture will look like the insignificant head of a pin in real life.

I'm not sure what's going on with the rider. She looks quite good apart from a face that's a bit disappointing but not a total deal-breaker (especially as I'm coming at this from a background of collecting GW minis), but I'm not understanding why she's leaning back so hard. Maybe a better pic from a different angle could make that clear.

The horny-lumpy dude isn't exactly my speed, but I like that they appear to be trying original ideas.

I love it. I think I'm going to order one.

So much win here. I cried a little bit.

"Griffon Lady"??? Ok, it's at least descriptive and maybe it sounds better in the original Polish, but can't we help out these very talented people with a classier name for this great model?

I really like the griffin. They got the pose spot on. Shame the rider leaves much to be desired.

Well I guess the rider could be replaced without too much work. She seems to come seperate from the Griffon.

The Griffon looks cool. Love the pose!

The rider looks like it was added as an afterthought. However, the pose of the griffon would make it hard for a rider to maintain any sort of dignified position.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

Cool griffin, but the rider is a wash. Leaning that far back would send her toppling backwards off of the thing. She even has PLATE ARMOR HIGH HEELS, for crissake!

The griffin is lovely but the rider looks like she is about to fall off.
