No. Protection of society and rehabilitation is the point in prison.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Must have been a tiny gun. Or very large Valentine card.
Is Valentine's Day big over there? Like, you better get the misses a card or candy or nice dinner?

Yes.
The evening itself generally sees couples out for dinner -- the women drinking red wine whilst the men , for some reason, tend to stick to soft drinks.

Boo! It's Terroir Terrorism, any way.
Wine is supposed to be relaxing. The French are doing it wrong!
Also, it's about the grape. STFU about the terroir (pronounced Terr-Wah). Snooty.

It is about the terroir and the grape.
A recent headline in my local paper read...
FIREMEN SAVED MY BUSINESS (a local business caught fire and the firemen came and put it out.)
Because the I had been fairly tightly kerned on both sides, I kept reading it as FREMEN SAVED MY BUSINESS
Which is a lot more exciting I am sure you will agree!

Oh I don't know, "Local Civil Servant Does Job" would probably turn more heads than the original headline
