Dear Dakkaites, I have a question that's been bugging me.
So the space marine codex says that the player must, on their first turn, bring in half of their drop pods (rounding up) in what is called a 'drop pod assault'. However, what does this mean for DoW deployment? is this rule ignored, or does it still take effect?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DoW is not affected. You must deploy the correct amount of stuff as normal for DoW. On T1 any un-deployed units not in reserve come on from your table edge (as usual for DoW) and the pods come down per the Drop Pod Assault rule.
