I'm currently running a themed snakebite/feral ork infantry horde for 40K, which is working quite well, but one of the characters that really make green tide lists shine is Ghazzy. Anyone got any thoughts on how to model a counts-as Thraka that looks as though its mega-armour could feasably have been thrown together by a feral pigdok rather than a mek?

Should I start from the Thraka model somehow (despite it looking highly technological), or perhaps bulk out a black orc warboss from the Fantasy range, or any other ideas people may have?

Any help appreciated greatly

I would suggest a scratchbuild. To start, unless you can craft greenstuff real well, use an aobr warboss. From there, you can create a sketch and stuff for your warboss.
If you want mega armor, maybe use a big wooden shield or something? Counts as pk can be a big axe, etc.
Ill try and update you on mine if you like, working on starting a similar warboss like this.

An update on your project would be great if you're doing something similar

Use a heavily-armoured fantasy orc as your base. I suggest something like these guys.

Hmm, a fluffy Snakebite equivalent of mega-armour is the hard part, trying to stop it looking hi-tech at all. Have you considered something whacky like segments of tyranid carapace armour, i.e. ripped from dead nid enemies?

Another option could be to make mega armor but make it covered in leather or something similar.

Cheers for the ideas guys, I'm quite taken by the idea of leatheer/fur covered armour, sounds like it could look really great
