Hey guys
After much deliberation over which army shall be my first 40k army Ive finally decided on Grey knights, however I adore the death company / sanguinary guard minis so much and they admittedly were a major draw to starting a blood angels army. However I think ive managed to figure out a workaround what would you say to using death company / sanguinary guard minis as part of a inquisitors cohort ideally taking the slot of crusader / death cult assassin (For the whole blood crazed death company thing) ?. Perhaps then I could even use those minis as the foundation of a blood angels army in the future, what do you guys think ? to outrageous ?, I was picturing a scenario where a strikeforce of blood angels have been commissioned by the inquisition to join them in a nearby conflict. Hopefully this doesnt sound to outrageous as Id like to hopefully get away with this at my local store as well hehe.

I don't think there's any problem using those models, so long as they're modeled correctly, and fully WYSIWYG. I like the idea of running a commissioned strike force in a game, though bear in mind that you won't be allowed to borrow the units from the other codex; they must be a unit that you paid for using your own codex.

Well, the models really don't represent the rules properly (5++ invulnerable, human statline, etc...)

You could probably get away with it at your local store. That said, you can probably get away with a lot of stuff at your local store.

I would play against you if you were using them, though I dont really have any issues with playing against people that are trying stuff out and have a unit of bases in the army.

Why don't you just use the BA minis but paint them GK colors? Alternatively, create a DIY chapter. Either option is a time honored GW tradition back to RT.

Just make sure everything is WYSIWYG.
