Hi guys! At my local games clubs matches can be fiercely competitive so I tried my damndest to put a real nasty skaven list together, with all my warlord cunning...

Skaven 2000 points

Lords and Heroes
Grey Seer, Power Scroll
275 points
Warlock Engineer, Level 2 Wizard, Power stone
120 points
Cheiftain,BSB, Halberd
72 points

Core
40 Stormvermin, Warpfire thrower, FC
375 points
39 Skavenslaves
78 points
29 Clanrats, Sheilds, Warpfire thrower, FC
220.5 points
30 Clanrats, Sheilds, FC
155 points
15 Giant Rats, 5 Pack masters,
85 points

Special
5 Gutter Runners, Poisoned attacks, slings, Deathrunner
102 points
5 Gutter Runners, Poisoned attacks, slings, Deathrunner
102 points

Rare
2 Warplightning Cannons
180 points
Hell pit abomination
235 points

1999.5

A Clawmarked few notes...
The giant rats go on the same flank as the HPA, therefore providing a quick flanking force which negates steadfast.
The slaves act as a screen directly in front of the Stormvermin, which the BSB and Gen. will be in. This allows the warpfire throwers to set up as the slaves waste themselves on the thing thats the directly in front of them.
The Grey seer will choose all Ruin Lore spells, effectively allowing me to cast any spell that I want.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

1. Poisoned Attacks doesn't stack with a magic weapon.

2. Protect your BSB.

3. Rares are pretty typical, and will serve you well.

4. Consider a Doom Rocket on the Warlock.

5. Make sure you note the change to the power scroll's effects. It's not as broken as it used to be, but is still nice.

6. You have 0 saves on your Seer?

+1 to everything steamdragon said.

If you're looking for a mean/WAAC skaven list, you're going to have to change some things up.
First, drop the power stone from the warlock, get the doom rocket.
You don't really need the warlord, drop him for some protection for your BSB, skalm/ward save for your seer and more slaves. 2 units of 45-50 is nice.

You can drop the unit champions from your units and the master moulder from the giant rats to free up a few more points. The MM kinda sucks due to having to be in the front rank.

Lore of Ruin is ok, but Plague can suppourt your army more, and most of the spells can be cast into combat.
If your warlock rolls warpgale/scorch/cracks call, you don't really need anything else from Ruin. If you want some good selection from both lores, squeeze in a spell familiar.

Cause the chicks dig it...
2000 (RT era Thousand Sons), 2000 (Undivided), 3000 (demons)
2500 (Skaven), 3000! (Chaos Dwarf), 2500 (Warriors of Chaos)
(RT era World Eaters WIP)

Okay, so I just re-updated the list, should'a done it AGES ago but I just never got round to it.

Taken all the advice on board and have tweeked the list,

1. Took the Warlord and MM out
2. Added Gutter Runners
3. Tweeked core numbers marginally

I checked the rules on giving BSB's some protection, and I reckon they can only have normal armour and no magic items other than a banner? If anyone disagrees with me check the codex, but that's what I'm seeing!

I really can't find the points to give the seer protection, which is realistically a 5+ ward, If anyone else can I would be glad, but I want the powerstone on the Warlock to stay.

Thanks for the input guys,

JJ

A Chieftain with the Battle Standard can take up to 50 points of Magic Items as normal. However, when he takes a Magic Banner, he is unable to take any other Magic Items. Since your BSB has no Magic Banner, he can take up to 50 points of Magic Items.
