Not sure which area this belongs, but I have a question about wargear. In particular, the question stems from Space Wolf Grey Hunters. Their wargear says they have: bolt pistol, bolter, and close combat weapon. How do I represent all 3? Do I need to represent all 3 in order for them to count as having them?

You can get bits to represent the extra weapons, or do what everyone else does and not worry about it.

you do not need to represent all 3 for most opponents and tournaments.

Thanks. I ask because I was trying to figure out how I was going to apply a third arm, lol. Was debating chopping up a bolt pistol arm and putting it on his side, but that seemed wasteful!

there are lots of Bolt Pistol in holster available.
Also.... Sometimes what i do with bits of geat that are hard to add or i may want to swap is you can magnetize the base and put them on the base like the marine just laid them down. But lets be real. most of us dont have our grenades on our models.

Models come with grenades? O.o

That would explain those little pineapples I see sometimes on the Imperial Guard infantry sprues. I wondered why I also saw them on my Battle Sisters. I just thought the Imperium was a little fruity in GW's eyes and they were making a bad joke.

On-topic, what I do is simply model as much as I can on, then when I run out of arms to put weapons on, I glue on an upgraded weapon somewhere. Basic gear, like the Space Marine Chapter Master's Honor Guard unit's power weapons, bolt pistols, and boltguns, I just glue on a power weapon arm, and either a boltgun or bolt pistol arm, and count them as having both their boltguns and bolt pistols and their clearly distinct power weapons.

An alternative to simply gluing pieces on would be to find some reference pictures of real soldiers with weapons slung across their torsos - or wherever they sling them - and greenstuff some slings onto bolters and their bodies for the models with pistols in hands, and the aforementioned bolt pistol in holster bits for the ones with bolters out, and having their close combat weapon sheathed somewhere - though how one sheathes a chainsword, not quite sure.

The basic given equipment doesn't need to be modeled onto a model - in this case the bolter, bolt pistol, close combat weapon and grenades. Just give them a bolter or the pistol/close combat weapon and that'll be good enough. Stuff like meltaguns and power fists have to be modeled though, as they're non-standard/upgrade equipment.
