Hey guys,

Mrs wants to play Gobbos, and was looking on ebay, are the Skull Pass Gobbos the same style as the existing Gobbos? As I know some got re-released this year, so didnt want to buy her old style models.

They look the same, except that the skull pass gobbos are much simpler to put together. Er... If I remember it right, you don't actually put them together at all... they are just one bit each

The Skull Pass goblins are Night Goblins- which are just a simpler version of the Night Goblins they still sale. The Skull Pass guys are just one piece, & come with spears & shields (40) or bows (20) molded on.

The normal box gives you options to assemble them with spears, hand weapons, shields, bows, & add nets.

So its not really an issue of out-of-date models, its just weapons options & if you care about the model being simple. (which Night Goblins really don't matter IMHO)

Get the skull pass ones. They're cheaper and you'll need a lot of them so save your $$. If you get the ones with spears and prefer HW then just clip the top of the spear of so they're holding clubs.

My current NG army is mostly made up of Skull Pass mini bought second hand. I did buy one box of NG for the bits to make netters and a converted BSB.

They're mostly the same style. The new style NG have slightly different hoods and spears, but for the most part they're the same.

I would suggest buying 1 or 2 boxes of new-style NG for the front rank, then use BFSP goblins to fill out the unit.

Cheers guys i'll get ordering some, also the idea of having boxed ones at the front is great.

Dunno why I never thought of that.

I did the opposite, clipped the part of the stick that protrudes below the hand so they're armed with "swords".

This is a great idea. As an added bonus, the BfSP ones also rank up very nicely, so they work well in the back ranks. You can use the posable ones on the front (and outside edges) to give the unit more character.

As an aside, if you want a unit with hand weapon and shield, make up one normal box set that way. In large goblin units, you can still mix a few of them in (especially in the back ranks) if you need to bulk up a spear or bow unit. As long as 30 of the 40 goblins in my unit have spears, no one notices the 10 without them.
