What do you think?

I'm really happy with this model. I used Lester Bursley's technique for flesh/stubble and this is by far one of the best faces I've done on a model. I'm happy with the detail and even the colors seem to mesh pretty well.

Not sure if the lightning on the weapon is 'enough'...but it looks ok. I decided to go all metallic paint on the armour for my Grey Knights again despite the disappointment I had before with my previous army. I think it looks a little better this time and I don't want to do a NMM b/c I dunno if I can or even have the patience for it.

EDIT:

BTW, base has yet to be finished and there is still no flat coat on the model....

pretty good mate, i'd say that you need to put a wash on your silver armour it's look mighty shiny, and takes aways from the well painted features like the face and cloth.

I'd go with a really dark blue wash, almost black. But yeah looks good.

+1 for washing the armour. But other than that, all looks pretty sweet!

P.s there's a new 'faces' showcase that was started to inspire others, be good to see a close up posted there!

The face is exquisite. The books and tabard are also really nice. To be perfectly honest the metallic paint may be holding you back. You don't have to spend hours doing NMM wit reflections and wetblending. You only need to SUGGEST the appearance of metal. A codex grey base with fortress grey highlights with a final highlight of 50/50 fortress and mitril silver suggests metal, has sParkle and doesn't take any more time than regular primary color marines.
