This came up during a game. Does nemesis warding stave give its 2+ save to dangerous terrain tests when they are assaulting a unit?

You are not engaged in close combat (yet) during the assault move.

He's not engaged when he's attempting to get there.

As long as it's a model with a wound =) and has an invul than yes

Yes you can take an invul save, because dangerous terrain wounds only disallow armor and cover saves.

Dangerous terrain rules explicitly mention invul saves being possible.
