I see that a lot of people have different opinion on this. So let's have a poll
Opinions?

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!
None shall stand against the Crusade of the Righteous!!!

It has only partly fallen, but part of the 40k setting building up to apocalyptic mode depends on when Cadia does fall and the Chaos Legions swiftly massacre every planet in their path before reaching the Sol System and Terra, IMO. We will see what happens then...

I can see that you decided to make this poll based off of a wrong interpretation of what I said. Nay, not an interpretation, you simply made up that I said Chaos has won.
Anyhoo, Chaos hasn't won yet, but I believe it will if the story ever moves on. The Campaign has simply come too far and has so much significance that Chaos should win from the perspective of creating a decent continual story.

Cadia itself is still contested but the situation is grave and reinforcements are far away ( if they can penetrate the warpstorms at all ).
Still, the Cadian Gate seems to be broken and the Segmentum Obscurus will most likely suffer from increased numbers of chaos raids in te future.

The poll doesn't make the least bit of sense, since we know what the actual situation is. It makes about as much sense as a poll asking if you think the sky is green.

Cadia has been breeched, but hasn't fallen.
Even if Cadia does fall, the hordes of chaos have along way to go and they have a limited number of Chaos Space Marines with no reliable way to replace their numbers.
Cultists will be found aplenty, but that still requires a fleet.

Okay, so its been breeched but hasn't fallen. Putting it into real world terms, it would be like if the Rock of Gibraltar were bombarded and reduced to a pile of rubble, but a handful of guys from the garrison managed to survive and keep the Union Jack raised?
So effectively, the way I see it, Cadia has fallen. Its incapable of filling the role that was assigned to it, since Chaos fleets are now free to travel the gate.

If the story moves on, it won't move again under the granted influence like it did in the campaign. GW learned from that.
So its up to the financial benefits and the continuation of the storys counts for nothin.
Consider the IG codex. Does it provide any backup for the story presented in the campagin so far? And if so, which part?
Cadia isn't even "actually" contested, if your only source is 5th ed and/or the IG codex.

Cadia's doomed. Here's why. Chaos controls the vast majority of Cadia. Abaddon has three different weapons that can destroy planets (his Planetkiller and the two Blackstone Fortresses). All Abaddon needs to do is clear a way and BAM! Cadia is now a empty spot that connects the Eye of Terror and the Imperium. Chaos flows out and is pretty much unstoppable.

Lets see
- plastic models of cadians - check
- planetkiller used to get rid of cadia - check
- employee being cut of his current source of income - check
- without the pylons, the warp isn't so calm and the route breaks down to a unreliable gate like soo many others - check
- chaos fleet now stranded without supply - check
- imperium incoming like their general strategy of response to a threat suggests - check
- the chaos forces caught and taken apart slow but steady - check
- where was the win?
A planetkiller is a bad choice, it destroys the path.
The blackstones are Eldar products and the rise of the necrons would demand their use. Dragging blackstones along just adds more opposition as they draw unwanted attention. Want to shoot these imperials? If you are able to beat the elfs and undead first....

Except for the fact that they just blew up the things that were keeping the warp route stable...

Cadia doesn't need to fall to be taken out of the picture.
By invading the planet and waging war upon it, the forces of Chaos now have a new foothold from which they can launch a new Crusade. Cadia can stick around, but merely a shadow of its former self. With Chaos using the planet as a platform for all the Crusades down the road, it isn't a gate anymore, its a springboard into Imperial space.

"AM are bunch of half human-half robot monkeys who keep tech working by punching it with a wrench And their tech is so sophisticated that you could never get it wrapped it out" thing a LITTLE to seriously. It also goes "Tau tech is so awesome I wish I was Tau and not some stupid Human" thing.

This would be true if they controlled the skies. If they somehow take them back then it becomes a springboard. Right now they only hold the ground. Abbadon likely thought he could control the sky with the blackstone fortress, but Eldrad screwed him over. Perhaps he will break out the other one, we shall see.

This. Games Workshop seem to have decided (not unreasonably) that a contested Cadia is the best result Abaddon's crusade can be allowed to achieve without destabilising their otherwise static universe. Unless they take the unexpected (and, to my mind, unwise) step of extending the timeline, it will remain a warzone while the Despolier's raiding fleets slip through to wreak havoc in Imperial space - the studio have been pretty clear in the past in stating that "what happens next" in the Warhammer 40,000 is for the players to decide in their own battles.
