I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but basically i've never played Fantasy, but want to start and Wood Elves are my favourite army looks wise.
I also have there army book, but to be honest none of it really makes sense when i haven't played any games or read the main rule book (which will be my first Fantasy buy soon....) But i want some help in building a Wood Elves army, so i can start buying, building and painting stuff.

My favourite units in the WE are all the trees, Dyrads, Treekin, Treeman, Drycha and i suppose Orion if he counts. I also really like Eagles as well.
I have no idea if you can make an army using all/mainly trees, it might be really rubbish. I'm not against having the standard troops etc in, because i still like the look of them as well.

So if someone could help me design a couple of lists for say a small point cost, like 1000 and then a higher like 2250-2500. That would be great.

At the moment, Wood Elves are one of the least competitive armies out there. However, their most competitive builds involve almost only Forest Spirits (the trees), Great Eagles and a Spellweaver. You are going to need some Glade Guard units too, as you need Banners to not instantly lose the Blood and Glory scenario.
