Ok, what are the Orgoth?

All i know is that they were nasty things, that had a mastery of Warwitches, and occupied the Iron Kingdoms for ages, were chased away by the colossals, and were eradicated by the Cryx in Drer Drakkerung. Where did they come from? And why were they so evil?

Long story short: orgoth were evil humans from a different continent that enslaved everything west of ios and rhul for 800 years before the colossals and new human magic drove them off and cryx took out the last remnants. Even the circle of oroboros got in on the act by spreading plagues to their retreating ships.
The 800 years of slavery was one of the most culturally defining events in the history of the iron kingdoms.

Is that all there is on them? I would have thought such a defining part of the history of all the races, would have a little more coverage.

There's more material on them, like a temple which captures the souls of unwilling sacrifices, how there are orgoth looking temples in the jungles on the south continent, and how their ships were able to cross ocean currents that even modern ships cannot, but my post above is the abridged story.

PP tells their story from the perspective of people within the lore. The Orgoth destroyed and burned a lot of their stuff when they realized they were on the losing end of the fight, so the people of Immoren, and by extension us, don't know too much about them.

It says that they came from another continent so it may be that they're still around.

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

Maybe. The Orgoth maintained contact with their homeland and part of their weakening came with the Circle Orboros managing to send a plague called Rip-Lung back there, I believe, which decimated the original Orgoth continent.

And stuff.

The soul cages that you find on Cryxian models are also, I hear, Orgoth technology. They were kind of metal, really.

And stuff.

There's a couple of youtube vids taken at Lock n Load of Doug Seacat chatting about the history of the Iron Kingdoms.

Orgoth come in about 30-35 mins in the first and the second is a Q&A which contains a little bits here and there.

So the Orgoth were Warhammer?

I'd have to recheck the book, but the Soul Cages were something Scavs came up with, maybe thru Orgoth interrogation, but they were his gift to Cryx.

The sink.

Maybe Orgoth are a new Hordes faction waiting in the wings? I'd play them, and I don't like Hordes.

Very, very, very unlikely.

1. The Orgoth are meant to be semi-mystical boogeymen. They're gone, over and done with.

2. There's no evidence that the Orgoth ever had anything like Warbeasts or Warmachines. That's actually why the people of Immoren were able to beat the Orgoth, thanks to a combination of the Colossals and magic.

Ok, so we've established a fair bit of stuff about the orgoth.

And yeah scaverous did "come up with soul cages", he was the one to read into the corpses after the orgoth blew themselves into little pieces after Drer Drakkerung.
They also were responsible for creating the artifact which asphyxious tried to use to ascend to godhood before Terminus slapped his gak.
They were the creators of the warwitch arts, so you have them to thank for every loss you ever had against Denny.

How about Morrdh? It's something else that keeps coming up as being mystical from the past. Anyone got any light to shine on that?

I know I'm derailing this thread, but I thought the two were fairly interwoven in purpose.
