I'd be a fool if I claimed this had never come up before. But my group runs into the same problem constantly.

A dedicated transport with a unit in it goes flat out, and it wrecked in the opponent's assault phase. And there's the issue.

Can the unit disembark, it it destroyed automatically?

The rules as written state that a unit destroyed while going flat out in that turn/phase cannot disembark.

And thus, a unit who must disembark is destroyed.

But, a vehicle who went flat out in the previous player's turn and who is wrecked in the other player's turn... does that still mean that cannot immobilize?

I scoured the book (albeit a little drunk and in a hurry during a game among friends)... and yet I could find nothing beyond the rule I mention at the top. So I'm not sure where to go with this. I don't even know what they mean as "rules as meant" because it may mean to apply on to vehicles who became immobilized on difficult terrain going flat out.

Any help?

Q: If a transport vehicle is destroyed in the same turn as
it moved flat out what happens to any embarked
models? (p70)
A: They are removed as casualties.

note turn is meant as player turn, specified in the book

Exactly. As long as you don't kill your own transport on your turn, the passengers can disembark.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Okay. Thanks a lot. I kinda wish I had determined that beforehand... it cost me the game. And sorry about semantics goof-ups in my first post... I was having a 40K party, so I was in a hurry to get back with the group, and had a few beers in me.

Now, this may seem idiotic, but the same vehicle in the previous example would still be wrecked if immobilized, even if it went flat out in the other player's turn? I'm pretty sure the answer is "yes," but I'm not sure.

Your transport goes flat out in your movement phase. If it is immobilized any time during your turn or during your opponent's turn, it is destroyed. Passengers are automatically destroyed only if the transport is destroyed during your turn. If the transport is destroyed during your opponent's turn, the passengers can disembark as normal.

This is not 100% correct.

The above only applies to Skimmers that are immobilized are wrecked. P.71

Other fast non-skimmer vehicles are immobilized as normal
