I was all prepare to take my foot IG list to 'Ard boyz until I started practing with scenario 1 and realized how badly Kill Points hurt my IG. I just don't think that a 10 man Terminator Squad should award the same points as a 50 point guard squad. So just modify KP this way:
Unit Cost - KP
1-100 points - 1 KP
101-200 - 2 KP
201-300 - 3 KP
I'll admitthis isn't perfect but it would be better than the current rules
When I actually got to 'Ard boyz my 1st game ( with the KP mission) was vs an Imperial Fists army with a 10 man term Suad. led by Lysander for all the twin linked Storm Bolter goodness. My Orks did not appreciate it.

Kp's are a great balance to objective missions. Although MSU lists are still very common it's tougher for them in KP's since they are looking at having to table an opponent who gets more KP's than their list has.

I've thought about this a few times and points for every 100 won't do
It has to be every 50 points
Do you think a squad of 10 gretchins (40 points) equal to that of a Lord Commissar with a power First (85 points)?
You round up the nearest number. So 76 would equal 100 points (2 kill points)

Oh look, it's this idea again. The entire POINT of Kill Points is to counter armies like IG, who would otherwise be totally OTT.

Well, if you round it to the nearest then you can get more kp out of it than your list would normally give. Just count points, this makes sense.
The thing i dislike about kp is that they make no sense:
I have 3 koptas; if i keep them in one unit, then the enemy can only get one kp. Now if i keep them in 3 sep units, why does that place my opponent closer to victory than the alternative?? This could change the couse of a battle, the enemy having 2 kps mor for NUFFIN!!
Soldier: "SERGEANT!!, They are closing on us. WE'RE DEAD!! THIS BATTLE IS OVER!!"
Sergeant: "Shut up, idiot. Do you see these 3 flying things over there? If we kill them we get three kill points, and that woud make us win. We're in luck that they dont fly in one unit, otherwise we really would loes this battle. But this way we can win! FIRE!

That may not make much sense but it does affect balance quite nicely. Without this three 1-model kopta units are much better than one 3-model one. However, suddenly there is a trade-off and both have their strengths and weaknesses. It's a great way to fight MSU to the max.
Balance > logic in this instance IMHO.

KP balances based on utility. Those three koptas may be 3 kp, but they have additional utility in that they don't have to follow squadron rules, giving more options for fire/mobility/targets.
And as for sense, it's not that nonsensical. Think of it this way. Fighters move out in wings of more than one unit so as to have back up and better defense. However, as is the case for many precision bombing/attack runs, the wing formation is broken so that a primary target can be hit quickly, and without a large vehicle footprint. So it's not nonsensical for that, and each single vehicle is considered a separate unit in military terms

I fail to see logic behind this statement. Last time I checked, the only viable small unit list for guard (Sucide Drop Troops ala LC) was completly removed from the codex.

Most IG lists @ 2k lists have like 15+ killpoints. that's what he's saying, It hurts as in that matchup, just as it hurts all MSU armies

I remember losing a tournament prize to this. Except, I was playing orks and my friend the guard. He argued that I needed to kill an entire troop choice to get 1 KP and I argued that I only needed to kill a squad for 1 KP. However, the TO ruled that I needed to kill an entire Troop choice, so he had spread out the troop slots to where 1 squad would be on the complete opposite board edge. And as we all know TO's opinion is the law so I just had to bite my tongue and play on.
