While many people will be preparing for Nova weekend tournament, I will be attending a local RTT.
After going through several varients of the leaf-blower list, I came to the conclusion of running a balanced mech list.
HQ:
CCS with 4 melta vets and Astorpath in chimera(ML, HF)
Elites:
Psyker squad w 2 extra psykers in chimera(ML, HF)
Troops:
PCS w 4 flamers in chimera (ML, HF)
commissar w power wep
Infantry squad w sgt power wep, missile launcher hwt
Infantry squad w sgt power wep, autocannon hwt
Infantry squad w autocannon hwt
Vet squad w 3 meltas in chimera (ML, HF)
Vet squad w 3 meltas in chimera (ML, HF)
Fast:
Vendetta
Vendetta
Vendetta
Heavy:
Manticore
Manticore
Regular LRBT w hull lascannon
This list should be pretty strong in objective missions, with the big 30 men blob holding down the home obj, while I rush the vet squads, PBS, and maybe the CCS or PCS against the opponent objs. Despite alot of guys on foot, should still bring alot of fire power against MSUs with MEQs.
May have alittle trouble against TEQ/Deathstars, but the big blob should be able to their ground if they get assaulted. Against Ork BW rush, most likely will have to screen with chimeras and vet squads and hopefully blast BW to pieces with vendettas and manticores before they get too close. Overall Mech guard is still weak in KP missions against most competitive lists other than IG and DE, key will be taking out enemy anti-mech and other dakkas and praying for good rolls. lol

Drop the ML for a AC... Your only gonna glance AV 14 so you kinda end up shooting at the same targets the ACs normally shoot at, plus with the BS 3 the 2nd shot from the AC means you have a higher chance to actually hit when you do shoot.
What are you bringing in from reserve where you need a Astropath?
With your extra 35pts, I would get a 3rd power weapon, get 3x Melta bombs for your sergeants in the blob, and give your PCS a plasma pistol to give them a str 7 punch at 12".

Its for KP missions and against shooty armies, if I lose the roll off I will be forced to go all reserves, the astropath will help getting me a good alpha strike.

If your not using him every in every battle, he is wasted points that could be points you use in every battle. If anything, with that mentality, a OotF is more useful and a better use of the points, because he /might/ help you more often.
If you reserve your entire force to avoid a alpha strike, your still going to come in piece-meal. KP missions are 1/3 of the missions, and half of those your going to win, or lose to lists that don't matter (Demons).
Meanwhile, your still missing a power sword on your blob. Your blob is a sentinal away from being neutralized for a game because you can't hurt AV 10+ with Str 3 power swords. If it is a Furioso, not even that long. Kan Wall is as popular as BW. Melta bombs are needed, specially since your leaving all the special weapon slots empty.
As for the PP, that is because it fills in perfectly and gives your flamers a really nice punch. Even if he dies to "Get's Hot!', you still have all of your flamers, so all it does is help. Though with your blob having empty special weapon slots, throwing in 2x Flamers or (bleh) 2x GLs might be a better use of the points.
OK, that is my reasons in support of my advice, use it or don't.
