So why does the Inquisition want to kill the Sensei? From what I've read the Imperium it is all about heredity. The bulk of planetary governers and administratum are heredity. I figured desendants of the Emperor would be running the Imperium not hunted down as heritics.

Because the =][= thinks that the Sensei are dangerous rabble rousers.

They think they're just rabid mutants and heretics. Remember that these Sensei weren't exactly in any sort of position to stake a claim to the leadership of The Imperium.

BL should really come out with a book about a Sensei and his followers adventures throughout the Imperium.

Could have a 1970's Incredible Hulk/A-Team/X-men angle to it. Helping a society that shuns them from the Forces of Chaos while constantly on the lamb from the Ordo Malleus.

Add in a fanatically/ruthlessly Puritan Ordo Malleus Inquisitor to serve as an antagonist and you have yourself a great setup.

Eye of Terra.

I am a bit confused as to what you're getting at, but the Sensei don't exist any more... any longer, umm, never did... kinda.

The Sensei and the illuminati were part of the story years ago and there are still a lot of folks who like and carry on that thread. Apparently that thread has been "nixed" from the present 40k.

Don't lose heart though, the powers that be have said that, truly, all the 40k threads are still active, but whether it's all fact, rumor or legend remains to be seen.

GW are keeping the door open on everything.

Here's an article.

I see kind of like the squats

and I was saying that I figured that children of the emperor would have high rank within the Imperium.

They've been mentioned in books as recent as 5th edition.

As to why the Inquisition doesn't like them, they don't like anyone that is a threat to their power. For example, they're reasonably certain they can resurrect the actual Emperor, and they choose not do to that so they can stay in charge.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Freelance Ontologist

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

The Inquisitor Wars books is based around the Sensi and iluminati, however it seems to be a recent release of an old series done in 2nd edition with the way the Space Marines and squats are concerned.

Like Ian Watson's Inquisitor, the Sensei and Illuminati date from the time of Rogue Trader (from Realm of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness, which also first introduced the Black Library) where they were introduced to provide a "good" alternative to Chaos champions.

Though some more recent background (the 3rd Edition Rulebook) has obliquely hinted they may still be considered by the studio still to be part of Warhammer 40,000's canon, it's far from clear.

Uh. No.

A certain faction within the Inquisition thinks it might be possible to resurrect the Inquisition.

Another faction within the Inquisition thinks this is a really, really bad idea, because the God-Emperor is, for the moment, an immortal spirit-mind-psychic thing in the Warp, kicking daemonic ass and taking True Names.

Further, they fear that a resurrected Emperor would be mortal again, and if another Heresy should happen, or something similar to it, the possibility of his true death is something the Imperium simply cannot countenance. They got lucky the first time, what with the Golden Throne being on hand and the Emperor, though very badly wounded, able to hang on until they put him into it. They might not get a second chance, should that happen again.

It has absolutely nothing to do with "retaining their power", as they had this very same power during the Emperor's life. It was he, after all, who commanded the creation of the Inquisition.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
