I would rather paint armor because i havent painted ANY bio at all, but it would be good to try and see how good i am...

If you're competing i would stick to what you know and play around with learning new techniques later.

If you're serious about it, pick a model that you are really excited about painting. The more you like the model, the easier it is to stay focused enough to do it right.
