I've decided to start a blog on any and all Orks I do. I have plenty lying around and I just bought some more Boyz off Ebay. I don't have a plan as of yet, some might end up in my store, others might be the start of a Kan army I have rattling around in my brain. Anyway I love converting and painting Orks - you can pretty much stick anything together and it'll look the part. I rumaged through my collection and began adding the finishing touches to a Truck:
I hardly see any Trucks with Boyz on or in it - I was missing the gunner parts so I had to make up a boy to stand on an extra bit I found from the Stompa Kit & figured I might as well add a few more Boyz onto the truck itself. I've added quite a few bits and pieces to it, some spare shutters from the Stompa kit, the dozer blade etc...I'm sure there's more I can put on it still without going
OTT
I haven't glued the boyz down as yet, so I can get to paint them - although strangely the driver was already glued in - must have been a moment of madness

Anywho, I got my clippers out and took my wrath on some Black Reach Nobs, removing their arms and replacing them with spares from the Nobs set - every Nob should either be armed with a combi-burna, a power claw or a big choppa in my book - so with some basic arm swapping and a little green stuff work, that's what I've done - on two of them at least...
The only thing I had fully undercoated was the Warboss from Black Reach. I've got a lot of mini projects to keep me going so I wanted a quick scheme to try out. I have a fascination at the moment with trying to get the best possible paint job, using only the most basic techniques. I recalled the Tale of Four Gamers about 3 years ago, and pretty much copied Fil Dunn's method for his Goths - if it's good enough for an 'Eavy Metal painter, it's good enough for me
Here's a quick
WIP shot - he's nearly finished at this stage, just some details and his base to finish, then he's ready to krump some 'umies - hopefully the paint job will make him better in games. Last time I used him he jumped out of a Trukk, assaulted 5 bog-standard Marines and promptly got beaten down
Why is it evertime I set out to limit my palette to as few paints as possible I always end up using 20+ paints
Stuff I already put together. Annoyingly I only have 3 Looters and 3 Stormboyz
I still have 10 Boyz to put together (probably some Ard Boyz), some Deffkoptas, a Shock Attack Gun, and some more Gretchin to kick. Next up, finish the Nobs from Black Reach and hopefully the weather will be good enough at some point to get some undercoating done.
Thanks for looking
