I've decided to start a blog on any and all Orks I do. I have plenty lying around and I just bought some more Boyz off Ebay. I don't have a plan as of yet, some might end up in my store, others might be the start of a Kan army I have rattling around in my brain. Anyway I love converting and painting Orks - you can pretty much stick anything together and it'll look the part. I rumaged through my collection and began adding the finishing touches to a Truck:

I hardly see any Trucks with Boyz on or in it - I was missing the gunner parts so I had to make up a boy to stand on an extra bit I found from the Stompa Kit & figured I might as well add a few more Boyz onto the truck itself. I've added quite a few bits and pieces to it, some spare shutters from the Stompa kit, the dozer blade etc...I'm sure there's more I can put on it still without going OTT

I haven't glued the boyz down as yet, so I can get to paint them - although strangely the driver was already glued in - must have been a moment of madness Anywho, I got my clippers out and took my wrath on some Black Reach Nobs, removing their arms and replacing them with spares from the Nobs set - every Nob should either be armed with a combi-burna, a power claw or a big choppa in my book - so with some basic arm swapping and a little green stuff work, that's what I've done - on two of them at least...

The only thing I had fully undercoated was the Warboss from Black Reach. I've got a lot of mini projects to keep me going so I wanted a quick scheme to try out. I have a fascination at the moment with trying to get the best possible paint job, using only the most basic techniques. I recalled the Tale of Four Gamers about 3 years ago, and pretty much copied Fil Dunn's method for his Goths - if it's good enough for an 'Eavy Metal painter, it's good enough for me

Here's a quick WIP shot - he's nearly finished at this stage, just some details and his base to finish, then he's ready to krump some 'umies - hopefully the paint job will make him better in games. Last time I used him he jumped out of a Trukk, assaulted 5 bog-standard Marines and promptly got beaten down

Why is it evertime I set out to limit my palette to as few paints as possible I always end up using 20+ paints

Stuff I already put together. Annoyingly I only have 3 Looters and 3 Stormboyz

I still have 10 Boyz to put together (probably some Ard Boyz), some Deffkoptas, a Shock Attack Gun, and some more Gretchin to kick. Next up, finish the Nobs from Black Reach and hopefully the weather will be good enough at some point to get some undercoating done.

Thanks for looking

excellent boss, the checks on is Klaw look great. I don't think you need to add anything else to your trukk its good as is, well maybe some wheel arches on the front wheels (something I think the trukk kit is missing and I have been trying to work out how to do myself)

Edited for spelling ∞ times

Thanks guys

Don't tempt me - if I did that I'd end up just painting one Ork a day

Still, I'll probably end up stretching myself on a few select models - the Shokk Attack Gun springs to mind

Now, try to keep the momentum going, thats the hard part for me anyways

I hear that - I'll try. Anyone who reads this and doesn't see an update at least once a week has my blessing to PM me a barrage of foul-motivational language

Well the weather yesterday was better than expected so I got some spraying done

Everyone needs a spraying stick - I use a cheap cardboard corner strengthener type thing...

I managed to get 5 Gretchin painted last night in a quick 1 hour stint. God bless Devaln Mud

And the start of the Trukk - shouldn't take too long. I hope to finish it today before the Football starts...

The finished Warboss - I'll take a better photo when the rest of the army's finished...

Finally I just ordered these from Puppet's War - they should be here in the next 10 Days or so...I can have Gringo Goff 'Ard Boys with poncho's, right?

Thanks for looking

Bruv, I thought Gringos were the non Mexicans? I dunno about that but sure I read it somewhere? Or saw it on something?

In any case, 5 Grots in an hour is a hefty piece of speed painting my man....impressive!
I'm looking forward to playing a game against these sucka's as soon as I can. 2nd Ed rules is it?
Be good bruv and keep em coming!

Well it's been a little while. I've not had the camera for some days and been ill with a pretty hefty cold for 4 days and am only now feeling back to normal - well as normal as I can be

Here's the progress I've made:

Nobs - all but details - weapon weathering and check patterns etc...

Grots - some minor weathering on guns for 5 of them - but otherwise done.

Trukk - finished, just the extra crew to do.

I've managed to base the squads I'll be working on next. 12 Boyz for the Trukk, another unit of 10 (will be up to 12) and about 11 old school Stormboyz. I have 2 Trukks in the post from ebay and am working on a Skullcrusha Battlefortress, using a Baneblade I started ages ago as its base. I bought some bits for it and will post some pictures once it looks a bit more Orky. So here's what I've assembled so far...

NEW STUFF!!! I love it when I get a box from the postman

Here's the Killa Kans that arrived earlier today, I managed to get them all assembled - great kit, although it lacked all the extras I'd imagined it might have...

Still, the kit did come with a spare DCCW, so without letting it go to waste I cut it apart a bit and added it to a Deffkopta - the power klaw could prove useful for them...

I haven't done much painting today, but primed the boyz squads ready for a session on the 'morrow & I ordered some bits from Ramshackle for my Battlefortress. Hopefully all the bits I have pending should arrive by the end of the week.
