Grey Knights vs. Salamanders
Me trying my 2x Paladin Deathstar list vs. Vulcan themed Salamaders, please forgive the appalling maps, they are not done to be anywhere near to scale.. as 12 inches is important.. we were playing normal rules for measuring

. I was just in a rush. Maps are more to give an 'idea' as opposed to tell what happened.
Army Lists:

10 space marines, multi melta (combat squaded)
Mission: Seize Ground (1 objective each) marked by red dots on picture.
Grey Knights won the roll for deployment and asked to go second. Marines deployed as shown, all grey knights units outflanked, 1 unit of 10 with Draico, 1 unit of 9. He coordinated his position on his turn 2. Sternguard drop podded into the middle of the board so to be useful everywhere!
Both units came in, but the snag was that the 10 man unit with Draico came down on the far end of the board... stupid outflank. wasn't the end of the world.. as they guaranteed that I'd have that objective, but it did mean it was going to be the unsupported 9 men vs. his army.
Mistake I made, was I chose to deploy away from the objective so to use my 2 psycannons to pop his transports so that when atleast I got to combat I'd get the consolidate moves. I was overly afraid of the meltaguns and sternguard. I should have been a lot more aggressive and hit the objective immediately as once I'd got into it, i could get my cover saves.. oh well onto the game.
I came down, and realised that I couldn't see the rhino from my psycannons *claps..* so I shot at the 5 man squad in the unit, forced saves on all and only 2 came out alive.. typically the multi-melta.. he did fail his
ld. test but of course shalt no no fear kept him there. Paladins on the other side of the board managed to run 5 inches! yay.
He brought his rhino forwards with the sternguard next to it. His terminators came down (shooty variety). He fluffed 3 meltaguns from Sternguard even with twin linked and killed 2 paladins both swords, a multimelta from the ruin and a meltagun from the rhino squad later and I'd lost a falcion more.
Landraider stayed still at this point as Peter hadn't worked out whether he wanted them to support the home objective or go after mine.
I moved forwards, psycannoned the rhino hoping to destroy it to assault the dudes inside. Managed the difficult terrain to get onto the hill though. Stunned it or so. Assaulted in, a few hammers later dead squad. No consolidate though :(.
Rending hit from the 10 man squad psycannons rolled the 1 so only glanced, but rolled the 6 for immobilized, definately a game changing roll.
He moved the shooting terminators around but not forwards, he didn't want them in combat yet, as 5++ and I1 wouldn't last long vs. paladins. A hail of poison 2+ shooting and a few melta weapons from the squads and landraider and 2 paladins dropped down. Passed
Ld test thank god..
Vulcan got out, with the assault terminators and tried to make their way towards the objective.
The diminished squad just shot their storm bolters killing 1 marine before assaultng in, and wiping them out, consolidating 4 inches enough to make cover.
He moved another troops choice into the building to claim the objective hoping for a turn 5 end, when the shooting finished my paladins who 2 were on 2 wounds, 2 were on 1 were down to 2/1/2 but they were still their.
My turn 5, killed the troops on the objective.. that was it. Currently holding both objectives.. game doesn't end.

Turn 6,
Vulcan and his crownies advance steadily, storm bolter takes a paladin to 1 wounds..
Hail of shooting at Paladins, takes them all to 1 wounds... assault terminators fail to get in needing a 6 to assault 6 up onto the second floor
Draico disengages to hold off Vulcan,
Paladins killed the 3rd 5 man tactical squad that i neglected to put on the maps, struggling to remember the lists cos I don't have them to hand.. but they had tried to contest the objective and hoped to take out all 3 paladins.
Draigo's 10 cronies take Vulcan to 1 wound and fail to kill any other terminators..
Draigo loses a wound to Vulcan and kills the lightning claws and takes another wound to a hammer.
Turn 7, Everything shoots Paladins takes them down to 1 guy on 1 wound.
Draigo goes at I1 surviving Vulcan and hammers taken to 1 wound by Vulcan though.. fails to wound hammers. (was going for them cos they are hitting on 3's not 4's.)
Turn 7,
Paladins stay where they are.. Draigo and Vulcan kill each other.. leaving 2 lonely hammer assault terminators.
Game Ends, 2-0 objectives for Grey Knights
Originally a scary match up, and I think I played badly cos I overestimated the meltaguns (strength 8 shooting.. that instant deaths my dudes..) that said.. for the majority of the game i was taking him on with 1 squad..
The outflanking results hurt me.. I possibly should have deepstriked them instead.. but I was too scared of the drop pod to start on the board.. that said.. he was never going to take or even contest my objective so I knew he was playing for the draw.. the advantage of having second turn means that he will be hardpressed to contest objectives.
I should have played more aggressively, he did dither with the landraider and possibly should have sent it more decisively at a target.. to hold up my 9 man squad etc. Still an interesting game. Did play the Paladins against 4 other lists and won all those two, 2 of them being annihalation where you struggle to lose unless they have the firepower to table you. I didn't post these as battle reports though cos no-one really wants to read a paragraph of Paladins killed the 3 units they had multiassaulted.. I just thought people might be interested in how the Draigowing list actually does in practise. (
PS. I apologise for mis-spelling Draigo.. or however it is.. don't have the book to hand right now..)
PSS: if anyone can see what i'm doing with the pictures wrong please let me know
