So at my FLGS I play necrons constantly. My list features warriors, immortals, and monolith's. I have a few veteran necron players there that swear by the pariah but im not sure. Pariah seem a waste of points to me as they dont have the necron rule and their only real strength is the warscythe which they only get 1 attack with as it is. It seems to me like they are only really useful as a support unit to the flayed ones and even then they are way too expensive to just hang around behind the flayed ones so they can screw with your opponents leadership tests. opinions?

Pretre: Are repressors assault vehicles? If they are, I'm gonna need emergency pants.
n0t_u: No, but six can shoot out of it. Other than that it's a Rhino with a Heavy Flamer thrown on if I remember correctly.
Pretre: Thanks! I guess my pants are safe and clean after all.

Pariahs aren't as bad as some peoples' knee-jerks would have you believe. You just have to play them right.

Reducing opponents' Ld to 7 is their most valuable feature IMO. Combined with the Lord's Nightmare Shroud or Deceiver's similar ability to force Ld tests, they can easily turn back units getting near to assault range (or, C'Tan forbid, currently assaulting your Warriors). Taking the minimal 4 Pariahs and setting them behind a phalanx of Warriors can be really useful for beating back assaults.

I don't recommend using them in assault...despite their Warscythes, CC is still unlikely to play out in your favor. Better to just keep shooting the Blasters and trying to keep them at a distance where Psychic Abomination will still be effective.

As a side note, if your current list isn't running Destroyers...you could really use some. No such thing as too many Destroyers.

Don't use apostrophes in plurals. "Pariah's" is incorrect, unless it's possessive or a contraction. "That Pariah's over there" as in "That Pariah is over there" or "The Pariah's warscythe" as a possessive are the only ways you should be using apostrophes. Just say Pariahs, Monoliths, and so on.

Pariahs don't count as Necrons for phase-out or WBB, which is a huge problem. They have too few attacks and are very expensive. whigwam makes some good points for their use though.
