Maybe Forge World finally decided to acknowledge the fluff of the game and realize that there is no such thing as a DKoK Commissar. All Imperial Guard Commissar's are trained from a very young age by the Commissarat. Even if a child from the planet Krieg was chosen he would be trained/indoctrinated off would and would be missing the experiances that make DKoK unique.

The DKoK fluff completely acknowledges the fact that Commissar's really don't come from Krieg, and in fact have to spend lots of effort getting to know their troops and serve a different role from that which they normally play in most other regiments. The book Dead Men Walking laid plain the fact that the Commissar for the DKoK troops was not one of the men of Krieg, and none of the Siege of Vraks books portrayed DKoK Commissars as anything but outsiders.

That said, it does appear as though they are no longer on the FW website.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Sorry, I read it as though you were trying to say that FW's fluff on it was different.

lol 5:30am work.

That said, apparently the DKoK commisars are going to be repackaged in a set of three, both foot commissars and one tank commissar.

Ayup, they're being repackaged. They've answered it a few dozen times, but it keeps falling off their Facebook page with more people asking it.

That said, I think Krieg would end up being very similar to how ADB described the Cadians. Their officers receive training similar to the Commissariat, allowing them to fulfill the same role if necessary.

Kanluwen is correct. I asked the question on the FB page initially...they're being repackaged. I wish they hadn't taken them off the website however as i would like to get one.

Murphy, did some goon named Nicholas Risley answer your question?

That guy is super helpful. But weird. I hear he likes Ron Perlman too.

Weird....indeed!

I hear he bakes a mean batch of banana bread though.

On topic, I think it's kinda dumb to combine them. I don't really want to have to buy a bunch of tank commissars just to get one.

I heard he once fought an Ork with his bare hat. It was epic.

It's dumb...to a point. The idea is basically that Forge World had to cast these Commissars up all at once as they were on the same mold, and it ended up with them having excess of the Tank Commissars while the pistol holding Commissar and Sword drawing Commissars sold out like hotcakes.

This way, you end up with a few extras, but at the same time--you can certainly find a use for them. The tank Commissar can be given a set of legs and become an overseer gazing at his goons, or the Commissar you didn't want on foot would end up being used in dioramas, etc.
