Hey guys just saw the new Kheres Assault cannon for the contemptor and its awesome. But im abit rusty in remembering something and hope you guys can help out. the contemptor has the fleet thing witch like eldar makes it able to assault after running.
my questions are.
A) Does a dreadnought run like troops or make the full 12'' like vehicles?
B) after shooting with a gun like Kheres Assault cannon can it still assault since a dreadnought behaves like troops?
C) Does Kheres Assault Cannon while rending also confer a +1d3 on vehicles?
D) Last, Kheres Assault Cannons, does a pair make it twin-linked or a seperate gun from the orther arm? I think the last is more likely.
WEAPON RANGE STR AP TYPE
Kheres Assault
Cannon 24” 6 4 Heavy 6, Rending < sick terminators and land raiders only have 4 shots with assault cannon, but a contempator has 6 even 12 if he goes all shootie maybe.

A) Dreads move just like infantry, so 6 inch move, d6 run, 6 inch assault.
B) Dreads are walkers, and as such can fire weapons with a heavy profile and still move and assault.
C) Rending does give an extra d3 when rolling for armor penetration if a 6 is rolled.
D) It would count as 2 separate weapons, 1 firing from each arm, not twin linked.
The Comtemptor is an awesome looking dread. I'd love to have six of those for counts-as dreads in my GK army.

Right:
A) its a walker so it can either:
move 6" shoot all it weapons then assault 6"
move 6" then "fleet" D6" and then assault 6"
B)Yes, Walkers are not like troops they just a vehicle that can run and attack back in combat
C) I see no reason why not, although be carefull the rule only allow you to take one assault cannon atm.
D) nobody knows because forge world hasn't released that information yet.

I was basing my answer on the fact that usually, when taking two of the same weapon arms, it counts as two separate weapons. If there are no rules for this yet, there may be something saying that it counts as twin-linked in this case, but it's highly unlikely, based on precedent.

True with eldars have the option to twin-link on both shoulder mounted brightlance on wraithlords. but since its space marines im still on per arm. But it is not an option as someone stated above.

Units don't 'fleet' in the current rules. Fleet went from being a type of movement to just being an allowance to assault after running.

Two of the same weapons being twinlinked is codex dependent and VERY situational.
For Tau battlesuits, it is the case because the codex says so.
For Eldar, ONLY the Wraithlord HEAVY weapons become twin-linked if they are the same. The War-walker can take two of the same heavy weapons, and they are NOT twin-linked, for example (Wave serpents are a different category again, as ALL of the turret weapons are stated as TWIN LINKED and you don't have the option to take dissimilar weapons on them).
Two assault cannons on Chuck would be two independent assault cannons. If you can swap out the DCCW, it's only S7 and no longer ignores saves in cc.

So can dreads assault after running? Example;
I move a standard dread 6" forwards, run d6", then assault 6"
Legal move or illegal?

Chuck can.
He is 'fleet'.
Means he can assault after running.
