Greetings,

I am looking for tips of any kind in regards to painting the edges of armour for units like Tau Crisis Suits or Dark Eldar Units. I currently am just semi-wet brushing the edges using the sides of a the brush, but I am wondering if there is a quicker more efficient way other people do. I have checked around for highlighting tuts but it seems to more for skins or marine shoulders which I am pretty decent at already. I just suck at armour highlights and detailing with inking them doesnt turn out to well beyond the metalics, at least from my experience so far and having to repaint entire models due to inking experiments. :(

Any help people can give would be much appreciated.

I suck at playing, but I dig the painting!

well it depends on the style of finish your looking for, my ork vehicles and armour for instance get drybrushed because orks don't do neat and tidy.... Tau on the other hand I would probably try to blend the highlight (the paint a highlight over slightly wet base so that it blends in) but i would still use the side of the brush trick to finish off the highlight...

Do you know of any webpages or simple tutorials on this. I tend to do a bleached bone highlight to give a really drastic edge but takes friggin FOREVER with the wee brushes. Didnt know if people used simpler technique. Thanks for the info!

I'm just going to copy paste this tutorial from another board to these boards and provide you with a link to that.

This would be it. Hope it helps. If you don't have glaze medium in your arsenal as a painter yet... you are missing out. Get it!
