I let the motivation come naturally. So basically, I paint a little bit for a couple of days every 2-3 months or so.

I always build my models as soon as I get them, for me the excitment of new models always is my motivator for putting them together.

Admittedly, I'm a little bit lax about painting, however. I do a "I'll paint when I can" sort of thing. I'f I am staring at my minatures and thinking "You look like a sad sad little guy" I'll paint him. Usually, its easy for me to motivate myself to paint my MC's or tanks, or even smaller elite squads like my Raveners. But standard infantry takes a while for me to motivate myself to do. I still have about 15 Termigants that still only have a basecoat after almost a year...

I do that with painting when I feel like it, and when I have enough time to do it thorough.

The glue isn't even dry on vehicles when I start painting them. Infantry, however, will sit in my box end judge me for months, waiting to get painted.

I like to convert most of my models and spend ages visualising what it will look like before I start it. I'm working on my Chaos Astartes agonisingly slowly now and thinking of the creepy haemonculi and archon I will make when I get to starting on Dark Eldar. I am more motivated to paint and convert my squad leaders, banners, vehicles and HQ's more than my rank and file troops however, as I often finish only one or two models in a whole day of painting, but the result is amazing to stare at after they are done.

Well, its self-motivation as I avoid playing with non-painted units as far as possible.

I didn't paint much until I joined dakkadakka. Then I saw all the nice looking models and promised myself I'd learn to paint like that. That was a few months ago. Have gotten 17 models done since then. Not much, but a good start

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.

I don't let anything touch the table unpainted. So if I buy something new that I wanna field, I gotta paint it.

See my gallery for Chapterhouse's Tervigon, fully painted.

I'm in the Independent Characters' Hobby Challenge and on Somethingawful's oathing contest. I need to make commitments and paint them every month, and I get the added bonus of chances to win prizes and such. That and I just really love playing with painted armies.
