I need to buy a second army for FoW to use against my British Paras and I've decided on Soviets since a friend is interested in them. I'm thinking of doing a Strelkovy Battalion but I'm wondering if it could be used in mid war? If so, what support assets are usable across both mid and late war?

I've been playing midwar games with my paras, and most of their support assets can be used in mid and late war, which is nice. So I'm hoping to do the same with my Soviets.

For the Soviets, the vehicles change (although you could use the T-34/76 through both periods) but the guns remain largely unchanged.

We're more into the game aspect than the historical aspect. We'll just play it as alternate history, "Stalin's Reach," where Stalin decides to keep pushing on through Germany.

Gameplay-wise, I've already fought a Soviet strelkovy list, mid war, with my brit paras and did decently well. despite my 6 pounders not having HE, thus being unable to do anything to the mobs of infantry, I should have switched out my mortars for HMGs too.

Thankfully I just got my 25 pdrs, only 4 for now, but I'll be getting another 4 once I realized that the two batteries of 4 can fire separately as needed.

I plan to get enough to run a veteran soviet list as well as the infantry mob, so no worries there.
