hello everyone, i currently have a 1k imperial guard army.It is a really fun army  . Here is the list.

But what should I do to this list to turn it in to a strong and competitive 1,500 point guard army.

First, the point totals are wrong. You're actually 60 points over. Your HQ is actually 315 pts, veterans are 210 pts and both infantry squads are 110 pts. Second is having 4 special characters in a 1k point army. One of them being Nork. Also, your infantry squads have 2 special weapons. One with a sniper rifle and flamer, the other grenade launcher and flamer. You only get one. Those are for starters.

But what should I do to this list to turn it in to a strong and competitive 1,500 point guard army.
As you can see, I made some changes to your list.
1. A good IG list has lots of infantry and a few tanks. You have lots of useless special characters, which I advice to drop.
2. Special weapon squads are not that great. Veterans are better, since they can take the same number of special weapons and are more resilient. Good choice with Lascannons with your other infantry.
3. I would advice to do the changes I made, and filling the extra points with either vets or another PCS. When you get 1000p this way, take two Leman Russes and give them this:
LRBT: default weapon, lascannon, HB sponsons.
LRBT: Exterminator variant battlecannon, HB, multi-melta sponsons.
This change is worth 365p. Now you have 135 points free. Take a squadron two of Scout Sentinels and give them x2 autocannons. Now you are pretty close to 1500p. If you still have room, take another HQ choice (Primaris Psyker, Priest, etc.) or another troops choice.
This army is a very efficient one, and a strong competitive army.

I would disagree with a good portion of Ambrosius' advice.
To start, the CCS is extremely bloated. Depending on what kind of army you want to run (foot, mech, or hybrid) determines how the CCS should be outfitted. I have never seen an effective list use Nork, and never a medipak. If you're set on running a foot list, I'm not sure what to suggest, as my CCS is always meched up in a chimera with 4 meltas or plasmas and a OotF in tow.
Marbo is kind of meh. He's a fun unit, but not uber competitive.
Ratlings are bad. However, I disagree about PBS being the only good elites choice. I'm a huge fan of suicide stormtrooper units as well, especially when they're loaded out with 2 meltas and deepstriked behind an enemy tank.
Harker is bad. Don't take him IMO. If you want to run a foot list, your better off with a couple blobbed platoons. Those are set up rather similar to what your infantry platoon is now, with some important changes. Blob platoons are meant to rush forward and park on an objective. Therefore, you don't take heavy weapons. Since they are moving forward, meltas are the best option for special weapons. You want to keep the power weapons on the sarges though, as well as the melta bombs. In addition, you can drop the krak grenades, and you MUST give 1 of the squads a commissar with a power weapon. He ensures that the platoon won't budge when the going gets tough. It also means you only need 1 vox to order 20+ guys. With regard to the PCS, I would drop all the upgrades save for the vox caster, and just give the rest flamers.
To expand this to 1500pts, I would strongly advise some mechanized elements, simply to rush forward to engage the enemy while your foot troops close for the kill. I would also suggest adding a couple vendetta's, as they are one of the best anti-tank units in the game for the points cost. Lastly, a Leman Russ or two wouldn't be out of place. However, never load them up with options. I've found the most effective is just taking a plain leman russ as compared to fancy ones, as with what Ambrosius suggested. I could still take 2 leman russes, however mine would probably be more effective as they won't be stationary due to the sponsons, and cost less points.
Anyways, hope this helped a little

Hmmmm I dont play IG but if I did I would personally do the conscript spam list which could actually work and I would just love to see my oppents face when they realise they have to killl 150+ conscripts :p

Conscripts are alright. Not for anything below 2000pts, but still. Chenkov, SITNW, and if you take Creed then they'll have FC from orders... you have 50 ws2 bs2 s4 i4 plebs trying not to trip over as they run towards the enemy. And when they all die bravely (against some fire warriors) you can SITNW and do it all over again. Also, if you do that I'd take a lord commissar so they don't run away as soon as the wind blows. Orkboy is right when Ld6 blows, and these bad boys have ld5.
In answer to the original question though... more. get more hvy wpn teams and more guardsmen. Don't put any upgrades on them apart from commissars w/PW and Sgt's w/PW, blob it all together and move forwards. Maybe some Vendetta's?

The whole point of all the conscripts is that there is simply too many to kill and if you take the character who allows you to bring the conscript squads back then you basically have a army which cannot be destroyed

more like a DC furioso with blood talons. 3+ hit, 2+ to kill and for every kill they get another attack. You'll notice I said "kill" instead of "wound", because in this instance it's one and the same.
Playing against my missus, who runs DE, I had 40 conscripts (led by a lord commissar with PW) bravely take on the Archon, Haemonculous Ancient, 5 incubi and 10 wyches. When it was all over, the wyches and incubi were gone, and I had 1 wound on the commissar, with 2 conscripts left. Sent in the next wave left me with 40 more (commissar was high and dry, though, and died) that assaulted her unit of grotesques, killing 2 of them for the loss of 8, failed Ld, and got run down.
So no, MC's will not spell the end for a large blob of conscripts as long as you have a heavy hitter with them. Or a Ld buff so they're not testing Ld on snake eyes. they're the ultimate tarpit.
Marbo killed her Archon with his demo charge when she failed the shadow field roll. Damn I love that little guy.
