Well, Death Cult Assassins look pretty bad ass in the new Sisters of Battle Codex, and I think that I'll definitely be fielding at least one squad. The problem I'm having is the models look old. And bad. And worse yet, they're expensive. I can't justify buying old, ugly models at 15$ ea.

So I was looking for something to use in their place and I found these: http://phoenix-forge.com/images/PIP32046daughters-of-the-flame.jpg

The Daughters of the Flame models look awesome, fit better with the rest of my models, and only cost 1/5th as much (seriously? yes.) as the Games Workshop equivalent. Do you think people would give me a lot of flak for using them? If so, what do you think I could do to make them more kosher? I split my play time between flgs tourneys and "fun" games (one friend plays Grey Knights and the other just beats my ass ~~ I'll whip them eventually).

Dark Eldar Wyches are what I would use.

In a GW tournament, no. In friendly games you should be fine. Also, quite a few of them do look good, but two have heads very similar to GW's 90s female models. I liked a couple, but not all. They do seem a bit bulkier than normal DCAs, with the armor, but should be okay in a sisters army. Not so much for Grey Knights/inquisition.

+1. I thought about doing an army using these, and they would work fairly well. You'd just want to bitz order a lot of the blank-helmet heads. Otherwise you end up with elven assassins, and nothing pisses off Dragio like an elf assassin in his army. Do something like that and he may carve his name in YOUR chest

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Wyches have potential, I think. The main attractiona to the WM models were the fact that they dual wield still, while also looking like they're in power armor and meshing well with the rest of my sisters. The wych arms with the serrated dual wield swords look nice, though.

EDIT: It's called a razor flail or some such, apparently. It looks neat.

I may just order helmetless heads in that case. Bring it, Dragio.

If you have a big D carved in your chest, don't come crying for sympathy. Draigo is kind of like 40k's Zorro. Only he doesn't have a cool hat and he didn't undress Catherine Zeta Jones with his sword.

If you are reading, Mr. Ward, this is where you screwed up-Everyone would have accepted Draigo's actions if he also undressed an attractive celebrity with his weapon.

I approve. Good show, my boy. I wonder if we could create a Draigo=Zorro meme.

Ideas that should never exist at 1am...

I hear you. I have to get up at 6 and drive for 5 hours tomorrow (that's work.) Thank God for Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee, Mountain Dew, and loud, obnoxious passengers/coworkers to keep me awake and entertained. Coworkers who also happen to be warhammer players

Mmm, there are upsides to disability.

Not having to deal with co-workers or bosses, for one. ^_^

Well, except Warbosses.

I like the Daughter's idea. They look good. I was looking at the sister's Mordhiem gang also. I need to find some shields to make crusaders. Maybe use the Morhiem gals for crusaders and fing some good shields.

I used the Dark Elf Cosairs and trimed all the extra stuff off and used some 40k heads I had sitting around.

Daughters of the Flmae are awesome and I considered them myself If I ever were to buy WHunters.

Sadly, you might have a problem at official GW tournaments since the company stopped becoming a place for hobby afficionados and is more of a denier these days.

Thankfully, in several parts of the world, GW no longer run events and TOs have minds of their own.

Huh, those Daughters of the Flame look surprisingly Sisterly, or is it just the colours? Imho a tad too heavily armoured for assassins, which is a shame, but surely useful for something ...

Also, lol'd at the D for Draigo pic. Well done, sir.

For my Death Cult Assassins I used Demonettes of Chaos, had to replace the lower legs and arms with old Dark Eldar model pieces.

Used the falchions from my grey knights and a lot of green stuff overall.

I am now converting up my Crusaders using various different models.

It has been very time consuming but I must say, I have really enjoyed the project and every model looks unique.

Also it cost way, way cheaper than the GW metal ones and mine look way better too IMHO.

I plan to post pics after I get around painting up the whole army.

Food for thought
