Hey,

So I finished painting the test model for my Slaaneshi CSM army, I'll probably change the colour on the guns but otherwise I'm pretty happy.

What do you think?

White and the blue-grey is nice, runes also look clean. Looks good.

On the gallery page that shows the image there will be a box on the bottom right courner, copy the text from the top one for forums and it will add it as an image link back to the page in your post. Looks like you were using the article ones.

The paintjob is good, though I don't really see Slaanesh in it.
Good job, nonetheless. Really nice white.

In your wardrobe, looking for Narnia.

Looks nice, I like the white and gold combination.

Yay! A Slaanesh colour scheme that is not totally based around pink/black!

I looks very nice indeed and you have a great painting standard too.

I thought it might not look overly Slaaneshi but I wanted to make a move away from pinks/purples etc.

Maybe I'll make the gun a leary colour.

Other suggestions to Slaanesh it up would be good.

looks enough towards Slaanesh for me but if you are wanting to 'Slaanesh it up' without going too bright or pink/purple I'd say... make it look 'expensive'... details, freehand paint designs, bring the metal highlights up a bit more and perhaps darken the leather colours.

I've never thought that the "Slaaneshi" colors really fit. I mean, pink and black don't really say "demon prince of excess" to me. They more say "13 year old Avril Lavigne fan".

Your color scheme doesn't really say "demon prince of excess" to me either, but I don't think it has to. It's cleanly painted and suitably ornate. And surely, wearing nice, clean white to a non-arctic battlefield full of blood, dust, oil, grime, and gore is some kind of excess.

Good job. I look forward to seeing more.

I like that a lot, one of the best slaaneshi schemes I've seen imo

Nice paint job. Good shading on the Icon.

Color reminds me of Lunar Wolves.

I like the classic look to the model and nice add in to the newer bits, very effective. Great paint job, since not a noise marine I guess I'll let you go with no pink on it...

All of my models are likely to be mixtures of classic and current range CSM as I've stripped the paint from the stuff I had as a kid and bought some new stuff which I've used things like backpacks etc from.

Thanx for the comments everyone, I'll try and get a squad painted asap.

So,

Not quite a whole squad but another marine anyway, thought I'd paint up a well old school marine this time.

I forgot how I painted the last one exactly, so I've written it down this time as I went.

Looks great, the only thing I might do is add a few more highlights to the Bob on the top of the head.

How did you get the pink on the leg and the blue? These colors just really work for me too.

and a comparison....

Looks like marines were shorter back in the day.

Pink is dwarf flesh mixed with white as you add coats, purple wash, highlight

Blue is enchanted blue, then ice blue, the a 50/50 ice blue/skull white (ish), then highlight in white. I made a little pot of the blue & white mix, made it so much easier to get near the same as the original.

I really like the new guy he looks just right, I always thought they look better in pastel type colours rather than pink/black.
