I have two slightly different lists for a small Combat Patrol tourney that's coming up in a few weeks. Any suggestions on which one I should use over the other would be appreciated. From what I understand, we're using the Adeopticon 2011 Combat Patrol rules.

List 1
-----------
7 CSM with bolters
1 CSM with plasmagun
1 CSM with meltagun
1 CSM Aspiring Champion with power weapon and twin-linked bolter
Rhino with two twin-linked bolters and Daemonic Possesion
Group total: 270 points

4 Plague Marines with bolters
1 Plague Marine with plasmagun
Group total: 130 points

List total: 400 points

List 2
-----------
8 CSM with bolters
1 CSM with plasmagun
1 CSM with meltagun
Icon of Chaos Glory
Rhino with two twin-linked bolters and Daemonic Possesion
Group total: 245 points

5 Plague Marines with bolters
1 Plague Marine with plasmagun
Group total: 153 points

List total: 398 points

I guess my main question is whether or not the Aspiring Champion is worth it in this case, or if I'm just better off with another Plague Marine.

Thanks!

I hopefully will see you at that tournament. One suggestion I'd recommonend is that for the 1st list, trying to find room for an Icon of Chaos Glory. That way, it isn't 1 failed Ld roll and you're done.

Cool, I'm looking forward to it.

I've got an Icon of Chaos Glory in List 2, and the first list has an Aspiring Champion with a Leadership of 10, so hopefully I'm covered that way. I'm just wondering if the Aspiring Champion and his power weapon and extra attack and Ldr 10 is better than an extra Plague Marine.

Thanks!

Well I guess it depends on how you want to run with that list. If you want to be more defensive, go with the Plague Marine. If you want to rush ahead and use the CSM prowress of close combat in Combat Patrol, then go with the Power Weapon.
