Company Commander Mathias Kingsley
Bs: 5 Ws: 3 S: 3 T: 4 W: 3 I: 5 A: 5 Ld: 10 Sv: 4+
Wargear:
• Power Sword
• Carapace Armour
• Refractor Field
• The Sword of Calthal
This is a Power Sword ignores invulnerable saves on the roll of a 6. It causes a wound on a 5+ no matter the enemies toughness.
• “Slayer”
This Hot-Shot laspistol uses the following profile:
Range: 12” S: 4 AP: 3 Type: Assault 2*, Rending
* Counts as an extra close combat weapon in assault.
Special Rules:
Un-Shaken: Mathias has the ‘Stubborn’ rule. In addition, while he is still alive, his squad is not automatically destroyed when caught in a sweeping advance. They continue to fight as normal, but are subject to the ‘No Retreat!’ rule.
The Anger Within: Every time Mathias loses a wound, his bs goes down by 1, but his attacks are increased by 2, and his strength by 1.
Ferocity: Mathias has the ‘Counter-Attack’ special rule. He also gains 2D6-4 extra attacks on the turn he charges instead of the usual 1.
Calthal’s Commander: Mathias can issue up to 3 orders a turn. He knows all the orders on page 36 and page 30 of Codex: Imperial Guard and the unique orders below:
Forward to Victory! The targeted squad becomes stubborn and relentless for the rest of the turn. The also gain fleet.
Onward for Calthal! The Targeted squad immediately runs 2D6” in any direction
Follow my lead! When this order is issued, both the targeted squad (even if they are falling back, or have gone to ground) and Mathias’ command squad gain fleet and must immediately move D6”, they may fire any assault or pistols they have, but may not fire rapid fire or heavy weapons, even if they are relentless.
Calthal’s Finest: any Calthal System unit (be tank or not) gains the stubborn special rule.
(Note: please don't comment on the 'Calthal's Finest' rule, the units are getting rules...)

Why T4 and 5 Attacks? T3 and 3 Attacks seems fine.
Wargear:
• Power Sword
• Carapace Armour
• Refractor Field
• The Sword of Calthal
This is a Power Sword ignores invulnerable saves on the roll of a 6. It causes a wound on a 5+ no matter the enemies toughness.
It would be worth to mention that he would "always wound on 5+, unless he would normally wound on a better roll than that" in order to avoid any confusion.
• “Slayer”
This Hot-Shot laspistol uses the following profile:
Range: 12” S: 4 AP: 3 Type: Assault 2*, Rending
* Counts as an extra close combat weapon in assault.
Rending just seems...well completly unnecessary.
No. Just no.
Ferocity: Mathias has the ‘Counter-Attack’ special rule. He also gains 2D6-4 extra attacks on the turn he charges instead of the usual 1.
Again. No.
Calthal’s Commander: Mathias can issue up to 3 orders a turn. He knows all the orders on page 36 and page 30 of Codex: Imperial Guard and the unique orders below:

No offence, but the thing that made me choke a bit was his attacks. So if he's on one wound and charges (a very possible situation), he could have 18 attacks? 18?
(Note: please don't comment on the 'Calthal's Finest' rule, the units are getting rules...)

Improved version is substantially more balanced. I still think he needs to be fairly pricey though. Maybe somewhere between Straken and Creed in terms of cost.
