For fluff purposes one of the 'lost' (they are lost because we the reader do not know what happened but the other primarches and the Emperor clearly do) legions only fits into the history of 40k during the Great Crusade as it is not fluff that they were somehow removed before the Horus Heresy.

'Founded from the 2nd/11th legions' is up there with 'founded from loyalists of one of the traitor chapters' as egregiously overused clichés in home-made chapters go. With a bit of thought, any date of founding can be used as a hook for some dramatic and original background - something Forge World have demonstrated remarkably well in the Badab War books.

Unlucky 13th would work well for your chapter...
