Hiya, been trying to build an actual elite army using grey knights for 1500, and I like this one. For C&C, I know Coteaz is good gak, but I don't want a non grey knight force.
Well, here it is:
Librarian 180
Teleport Homer
The Summoning or Warp Rift (COuld exhange a power for a single Servo-skull)
Sanctuary
Might of Titan
GKT Squad #1
7 Terminators, 1 Psycannon, 1 Brotherhood Banner, 5 halberds, 1 hammer -330
GKT Squad #2
7 Terminators, 1 Psycannon, 1 Brotherhood Banner, 5 Halberds, 1 hammer -330
GKT Squad #3
7 Terminators, 1 Psycannon, 1 Brotherhood Banner, 5 halberds, 1 hammer -330
GKT Squad #4
7 Terminators, 1 Psycannon, 1 Brotherhood Banner, 5 halberds. 1 hammer -330
1500 on the nose. I know I would lose to some things, and I know all my units are the same, but I like it and I think it looks really fun. My
squads would work together and stay together, focusing their CC power. I would always keep up sanctuary, and the summoning is so that I can start my forces on the board split, and then combine if I need to. 29 Wounds, which is not a lot. They can all start in reserve, and then DS onto the board near the Librarian. Questions:
Should I have a NFS in each squad?
Should I drop a 2 terminators or the Librarian for:
Ordo Malleus Inquisitor
Psyker, with Psychic Communion
And then I could add servo skulls or terminator armor, using him to get my forces on the board faster if they are DSing?
How well do Vindicaire assassins perform?

The GK Termies will get chewed up and spit out on foot - Tho I assume you are DSing into the field... If you want to go with a terminator list I would check out Draigo lists which seem to be more what you like. They run large units of paladins. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also Vindicare Assassin has it's place in a GK list - but usually only against eldar when you need to pop a farseer

Thank you for the reply. From the lists I've seen, Draigo can't perform well below 1750 points. And they're all run the same way, and it becomes rock paper scissors, because they rape "normal" armies but can't fight agaisnt, say, Las/plas spam.
This one, while less wounds, Allows me a Librarian, and I have more units to take on more units at once with.

If you're dead-set on running a list like this I'd recommend finding room for Mordrak and his Ghost Knights.
He can do his first-turn deep strike with the Librarian with him. That puts your teleport homer AND Mordrak with his Psychic communion on the table anywhere you want in turn 1. It will also affect the way your opponent sets up because a smart opponent will be crapping his pants at the idea of a Librarian with warp rift appearing anywhere on the table in turn 1 and dropping an uber-template on a key unit.
When you increase the list to 1850 you can work some Paladins in there and use Mordrak's Grand Strategy to make them scoring.

Thank you for the advice! Can the Librarian really join the ghost knights?

Mordrak's "First to the Fray" rule says that Mordrak and "any unit he accompanies" automatically arrives first turn, no scatter. The correct interpretation of this rule is that it is not limited to him and his Ghost Knights. He could elect not to take any Ghost Knights but instead join a unit of Paladins and bring them first to the fray. Likewise another IC can join Mordrak's unit of Ghost Knights and is therefore "a unit he accompanies."
So I think it seems that, yes, another IC can join the Ghost Knights during deployment and get the First to the Fray rule.

Just FYI Summoning doesnt work with teleport homer, if that what you're planning
As for the list goes, regular termies doesnt really hold their ground points wise, and i would say you lack some shooting.
What would you do against vehicles with av 14? Chase them around with termies hoping to bring that hammer to bear?
Fast moving troops with plenty of AP 1-2 is just going to move around you shooting your termies out one by one.
I'd think about addding some kind of transport and moving at least 1 unit around in. I would then tailor this with AT weapons, so a regular LR would probably be best. Either that or a Storm Raven.
Storm raven with 5 termies and librarian can tear up most stuff. It also makes your libby go where you want him without having to DS him there

I wouldn't recommend a Brotherhood Banner on anything except a full ten-man Paladin squad. Reason being you pay through the nose for an extra 7 attacks, though one of those (the banner bearer) isn't a power weapon attack, and you lose an additional 2 power weapon attacks from, again, the banner bearer. So in reality, you're only getting 4 additional power weapon attacks for the 20 (or is it 25?) points.

Grey Knight Terminators can have 8 (EIGHT!) missile shots at 24''. Give them that. Every squad needs to be min-maxed for psycannons and psybolts. You can combat squad if you want. Check it:
-10x Grey Knight Terminators (Psybolts, 2x Psycannons) 470 pts
-10x Grey Knight Terminators (Psybolts, 2x Psycannons) 470 pts
-10x Grey Knight Terminators (Psybolts, 2x Psycannons) 470 pts
t
Leaving 90 pts to add in an inquisitor HQ. For 85 pts, you can get an Ordo Malleus with another psycannon. This can break apart into 6 units of 5 with 4 str 8 shots each, meaning you can ruin most things at decent range. With halberds and 1-2 hammers per unit you are almost immune to assaults from anything that can be fielded at 1500 pts.
Or, if you don't mind power armor models, you can have:
-10x Grey Knight Strike Squad (2x Psycannon, Bolts)
-10x Grey Knight Strike Squad (2x Psycannon, Bolts)
-10x Grey Knight Strike Squad (2x Psycannon, Bolts)
-10x Grey Knight Strike Squad (2x Psycannon, Bolts)
-10x Grey Knight Strike Squad (2x Psycannon, Bolts)
-10x Grey Knight Strike Squad (2x Psycannon, Bolts)
With 60 pts left over for an inquisitor with super-assaulty grenades. Thats a possible 12 scoring units, with between 24 and 48 rending str 8 shots at 24''. How many landraiders were you worried about again?

Wrong. Psybolts do not affect Psycannons.

Mordrak is not an IC.
That only means he can't join another squad. However an IC can join a squad, and Mordrak and his ghost knights are considered a squad. But yes, he by himself cannot join a squad of Paladins or any other squad.

This list is way to foot slogging. sure, you got 28 termies, and it will give your opponent a fright, but if they concentrate fire at range, it shouldn't be to bad. Also, you lack anti-tank. A land raider crusader would be a real thorn. I'm sure this will be a fun list to play, but against most armies you will find yourself running out of bodies very soon. If you want competive play, and don't want any inquistion, get Catellan crowe and purifier spam

Hmm, never noticed that Mordrak doesn't actually have the IC rule. I suppose if he could join Paladins it would make him really overpowered so that makes sense.
Don't forget that Psycannons in the hands of Terminators will always shoot at Heavy 4 Rending due to the Terminators being relentless. If you have 2 in a squad and throw 8 of those shots at an AV14 vehicle you're looking at usually 4-5 hits. If any one of those hits gets a rend on the pen roll you're at 13+d3 for armor penetration. Not the best way to kill the big tanks but, still, not too shabby.
