So I have been looking for the Novel Fire Warrior for years now. Last Weekend at a Local Flea market, I found a copy. Looks like it has been read once and only cost 50 cent.
Guess what I bought?
So I was wondering what other gems fellow Dakkites (I'll get it right one day) have found at Flea markets/Yard Sales/ Thrift Stores/ect.

Well, the only flea markets I've gone to have been at Historicon, a game convention in Pennsylvania. Last time I went was 2009, and here's some of my haul:
- Rogue Trader Dreadnought: $8
- Necromunda starter set, opened but unused: $50
- Apocalypse gamer's edition - Apocalypse rulebook, templates, vortex grenade template, big gun dice, vehicle damage dice and a big Imperial Guard backpack that perfectly fits a GW case: $20
- Ork Spearhead: $70
My entry into 40k proper was when I got the 3rd edition starter set for $20 a few years before. I've picked it up three times, and altogether I've spent about $50 between all three.

My first was $20, second was $10, third was around $20.
I never understood why people would let them go that cheap since it was a full tactical squad, land speeder, and 20 Dark Eldar on top of the rulebook, templates, whippy sticks, and other such stuff. Then again, you'd have to pay me to build that old landspeeer model.

I was walking with my dad around the local Flea Market to look for warhammer. I did. I found a whole butt-load of second edition stuff like a pair of tyrannic boneswords, an ugly beaky helmet, a bunch of old bolters, a right-handed power fist, an old Imperial construction robot, loads of shoulder pads, arms with MK.5 shoulder pads, spare clip dispensers, medical thingies, chainsaw bayonets, old back packs with the piping all over it, some old snake thing on a Calvary base, several old terminator arms with storm bolters, and the old space marine model that was wounded in several places and looks like he is saying "ooooh".
So...yep.

At a garage sale, I got for $75 the following: six long boxes of comic books (about 1,500 comics) and a mystery box that had 2 unopened boxes of Tyranid genestealers, 16 space marines, 10 chaos marines (metal), a couple blisters of eldar warlocks (metal), four dozen orks and gretchin (metal and plastic), 3 epic titans and vehicles, an unopened box of Wood Elves War Dancers, 2 unopened boxes of Elven Silver Helms, 20 Empire soldiers + 2 command, 16 skaven troops, an assortment of dwarfs, some beastmen, and a whole load of bitz.
I've traded or gifted most of this to other friends to build up my space marine and dwarf forces.

I keep turning up copies of Black Library novels and older RT Era books at charity shops and the like, but I dread the day when people start to realise that there's a market for them as they then start to ask silly prices for battered and abused books.
I once found a copy of the old GW boardgame "Dungeon Quest" in a charity store for about £5, which almost rivals the time I found (apologies for going off topic somewhat) a complete, full-sized Unicron Transformer for the same price.
I have a terrible battle internally between the desire to profit from such finds and the guilt at buying them from people who have no idea of the value of the item in question.

If were bringing boxes of Dungeon quest found in charity shops into this then I think I have the lot of you beat. Heh, seriously I have about twenty boxes of Heroquest/Dungeonquest/SpaceHulk/BloodBowl/GorkaMorka and their "Advanced" variants and other subsiduries sitting in a pile in my loft from buying them in charity shops for 50p-£2 (and would probably have a good few more if I hadn't stopped buying them after it'd become a bit excessive). The Glaswegian second hand market is chock full of that kind of crap. =P

Lucky you, thats a steal for sure. I've got most of my 40k army from a comic book store by my house. People sell their used stuff and I benefit by getting everything half off if not less. I've always gotten lucky with books. I got most of the horus heresy from a used book store. So like about 3 to 4 bucks instead of 8 or 9 dollars.

9p for Heroquest, had extra figures too for empire knights and those are quite rare. Yes, nine pence. I gave them a whole pound for it which they tried to refuse.
Another time they were *giving away* White Dwarf magazines. I had about 20 issues mostly around #100-150, which was great, and a stack of old dragon magazines. I couldn't take them for free so had to force them to take a pound, again.

Not always. It's often parents and a case of 'our kid finally moved out and we're selling his junk he left behind'. Someone on Warseer said he had the same thing happen at a garage sale, several 2000pt armies for a few quid.

However, I feel in those instances the kid still has an idea of how much he got them for originally, so he is going to charge a price that is more close to what they actually cost.

Na, im talking about some 10 year old kid whose parents baught them for him. Anyone older would most likely know their worth and find a better way to sell them.
