In a drunken stupor not too long ago while playing Reach with Medium of Death, we came to the conclusion that Draigo is in fact trapped within the Warp at the Emperor's behest so Draigo can ascend to godhood and smite the Ruinous Powers properly.

Seriously though, Draigo is more Sisyphus than Emperor. Everything he does is washed away by Chaos. He is a metaphor for humanity's fight against the warp.

Umm Draigo unlocks Paladins. Paladins are lawful good. So are Gold Dragons. The Dragon is a C'tan. Obviously Draigo is a C'tan plant in the Grey Knights. C'Tan assistance explains his meteoric rise to power. The C'Tan needed an agent to fight against Chaos and give them reports of the conditions in the RoC, hence why he returns randomly 'during great need'. The great need part is crap, it's just programmed so that he can shoot an encoded burst to his handlers and then get back in there.

Draigo is actually the primarch of both missing legions (kind of an anti-Alpha Legion deal) but he had his memory blanked when their records were destroyed. The Inquisition keeps Draigo stranded in the Warp to prevent him from ever discovering the truth.

Can we have this moved to 40k General, so we can make it clear that this isn't really "canon" discussion?

Its all an Alpha Legion Plot

The flipside to this possibility is that Draigo is not doing a very solid job of taking down the Chaos Gods, since they still...exist. If Draigo were the Emperor reincarnate, then the champion of humanity would be a huge joke.

Possibly because he is still tied to the corpse on the Golden Throne. So, the natural progression leads to only one option. Draigo must kill the Emperor... to become the Emperor.

There can be only one.

As for the Star Child theory, the Emperor repeatedly stated that he wasn't a god. In fact he pretty broke Lorgar because Lorgar refused to believe it. The worship and pyskers are powering the Golden Throne which powers the Emperor to power the Astronomican.

That is EXACTLY what I picture Khorne doing. Khorne Berserker's should have a special rule. +20 points, Coke. Gives the unit fearless and feel no pain for 30 to 40 minutes. Unless they got it from the guy on 3rd St. Then it's +15 points and only lasts for 20 minutes.

Actually, drugs would fall into Slannesh's area. I think it should give +1A, +2I and Furious Charge.
