What are people using instead of the GW Jokero model? Personally I think it's a silly model, although well crafted, it lacks PUNCH! On ebay I saw those really old Eldar phantom bots http://www.solegends.com/citrt/rt403eldarwarbot.htm and thought they looked perfect for a tech-laden Ordos Xenos.
So anyone else got a brainstorm going?

Is not beyond the bounds of reason!
I've considered old Obliterators as Skitarii Gun units. I've got an old RT Eldar Pirate with a missile launcher.
It's gotta be grimdark.

I'm actually modelling it as the WHFB Empire Musketeer monkey on a guardsman shoulder, tinkering with a ramshackled combi melta/flamer in the warrior's hands, holding a wrench with its tail and generally annoying the poor man as much as possible (I admit, I am tempted to make a rogue-trader-type guardsman, with tricorn hat (using the FW Marienburg Landship captain) and piratesque look, possibly with a hook hand, holding a pint of grog or a banana for the monkey. Piraty! Harr!).

one of my friends made Jokero weaponsmith out of Skaven Plague monks. He add minor bionics on them and "monkeyfied" their faces. in that end they look like miniature techpriests.

A couple of these guys painted up like orang-utans (with orange fur and greyish-black flesh).

Because I already had them.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Jokero aren't violent are they? They kinda just sit around and ponder their navels until someone gets in their way then they 'design' their way out of the situation. Unfortunately the fluff really enforces the idea that they are goofy looking Orangutangs with stupid grins on their faces. Aren't they?

Tech priest engine with a moded up staff. Adjusts knobs and dials on the staff to adjust it's energy output (ie make it shoot like a las cannon or plasma gun). That was my plan anyway, before switching to a different game system.

I was thinking maybe this guy-
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Titans/TITAN-TECH-PRIEST.html
could represent a higher up from ad-mech getting drafted by the inquisition, more grim dark and imperial than space monkeys to me.

I am going to use a Tech Priest or a Tech Marine modelled up with a strange multi-barrel gun in a shoulder mount.

Orangutans in my army? Yeah, I don't see that happening ever, GW....Put it in the warehouse, next to the Pyrothrope and the Porche-boar, and think hard about what you have done.

Personally, I really like the Jokaero model. All I could ask for in a laser-ape. Would have liked a couple of poses though, but hey. I might look into picking up some baby orangutans from that little German animals series. Schuiter? Something like that? Is it even German? Anyway, taking a knife and drill to them, sticking some techno-bits on and greenstuffing them up a bit: Baby-tans of dooooom.
