Quick question on a Wolf Lord with 2x Fenrisian Wolves as wargear.

The lord is in CC with a Soul Grinder who deals 3 CC wounds. The lord fails his Storm Shield save and suffers Instant Death.

As a result the wolves and the lord are removed (as per the wargear entry for the wolves). My question is, do the two dead wolves contribute to combat resolution or does just the lord. This is significant because...

Just Lord - 3 wounds
Lord and wolves - 5 wounds

Thanks, I tried searching this first but did not see any entries on the first page.

The wolves were a separate unit involved in the combat and were removed. I would say they add to the Combat Resolution.

This was my thought as well, however there was some disagreement on it. Specifically, the fact that it just says remove them and not remove as casualty in the entry.

If a Wolf Lord joins 5 man GH pack and eats a Krak Missile (killing him outright) does his death and the 2 wolves constitute a loss of 3 models of the 8 and therefore require a leadership test for losing 25% casualties?

Yes, 3 models were removed from 8

I would definitely say they are added to combat resolution. The unit was destroyed in the combat. It's the same way that losing the lord to instant death nets 3 wounds instead of the single wound that killed him. The lord suffered a single ID wound and 5 wounds worth of models were removed as a result.

Thanks for the feedback. The rest of the backstory is the TWC attached to the lord that turn ended up passing leadership with a 7, so the additional two wounds would have caused them to flee. This, in turn, would havesaved my Soul Grinder from a S10 powerfist!

According to the rules you only count the number of unsaved wounds inflicted (with instakills counting as the number of wounds left on the model). You still remove the wolves because they were wargear but you only get credit for the three wounds you inflicted.(pp 39)

Yes. Resolution is taken from all models on your side.

If they took unsaved wounds.

Unsaved wounds inflicted is what combat resolution cares about. P.39

If the wolves do not take unsaved wounds, they do not count towards combat resolution.
