Ok everyone as you may have heard the new WD SoB codex has just landed.

I have quite a large Witch Hunters force (around 2000 pts) the problem is that I have a distinct lack of normal Sister models. When I played WH I used Storm Troopers and Inducted Guard to fill my troop slots.

So if I was playing a friendly game against you and wanted to count my inducted guard (who are kit bashed with flagellants to be more of a frenzied mob) as 2 squads of plain sisters of battle would you allow it?

Can I use some imperial guardsmen as space marines because I don't have enough models?

Ok point taken.
I'm just a trifle annoyed that around 2 dozen converted models are now useless and I don't have a legal army anymore.

I hear you on that. Same thing happened to me. Considered using them as Sisters Repentia? Or perhaps knocking something together from the GK 'dex?

I would, simply because of the fact that you put the effort into building and painting them and they changed it in an instant. It's the same way for me. However, I probably wouldn't let that go on for too long, because, like everybody else, you would have to update your force to fit. Granted, I think that the new rules set for the WH is a bit ridiculous, but the rules are rules.

7500pts. 1750pts. 1500pts. 2000pts. 11000pts.

I wouldn't mind in the least. I played against a kitbashed sister army just the other day. It just depends on the person you're playing against.

Eventually consider buying some plain sisters. The frenzied mob style guard could make a Frateris Militia style unit using the battle conclaves rules with a little work ie/ arcos and crusaders

Why must I always choose beween certain death and probable death.

Hmm hadn't though of using them as acros, there are a few guys with flails so it might look ok.

Im only planning to do it for a few months until I get enough cash together for the rest of the sisters.

I have lots with heavy and special weapons, its just getting enough normal ones with bolters to fill out the troop slots, esp now they're what £3.50 a go.

Check ebay a lot. My money's on there being some serious rage-quitting about to happen. Or, at least, I'm hoping there will be.

You've gone a long time without a change. Lots of other armies go through this much more often.

yes because it's a friendly game, they're a GEQ army, and I'm not a dick. if it was an every game thing though, i'd take mild umbrage after the 3rd or 4th game.

on second thought, even then i probably wouldn't mind. if we're playing a third or fourth game, i consider us buddies by now.

This. Or you could probably find a way to use them quite well in the Imperial Guard codex.

Why don't you post us what models you have, and we'll see which codex would fit it best nowadays...?

Perhaps this is part of the problem with
GWs policy of "updating" armies...it's so obviously aimed at making you invest further in your army, however that in itself is simply business and understandable! But, my god, look at the cost of updating a SoB army!!!! I say good luck, and anyone who insists on you spending that kind of money is obviously not a friend you need to be playing with.

Know what the fun part is? If/when the new plastic Sisters come out they're just as expensive as the current metals because "Look how much nicer the quality is! You were already willing to pay this much for the old metals, but look at the nice new plastics you get for the same price!"

Just as expensive? Please. You know they'll be getting a 10%-20% price increase.

This.
This right here.
It's why I'm spending my mini budget on PP now.

After they made my whole Mech-tau army totally non functional in 5th ed. It made me really, really, wary of spending any money I managed to save on my tau, or another army, just to have the whole lot of it made pointless by another rules update. I mean I could buy my black templars a vindicator, they're pretty freaking cool now that they have the updated POTMS, but for all I know they may not even have vindicators next codex (heck just as a reminder of this sort of thing when I bought my BT army used from a friend it came with a BT whirlwind, which they no longer have access to.)

I may have left after recent events, but it was their policy of doing this kind of thing that had soured me on them a few years back.

Just an advice. If you don't like Sororitas, why play Codex Sororitas? If you want to play Guard, play Guard. If you want to play Inquisition with Guard, Inquisition is now Grey Knight Codex only. For several years, GW made no secret that they want to take Inquisition out of the Sororitas Codex and add ecclesiarchical units instead.

Are you sure you're confusing internet rumour and prediction for an "Official GW statement"? because what you're suggesting seems VERY out of character for GW. GW giving gamers advanced warning about impending changes to their army.....and a couple of YEARS in advance.....really.......I mean that would be great for us, but can you imagine the impact on sales? all those Inquisitorial Stormtroopers not being sold......yeah, sounds just like the GW we all know and love?

Man down, Man down....
